A new Gran Turismo Sport trailer has GT Academy Veterans and professional Nissan GT Sport Motul Team RJN drivers explain how realistic it is.
Because it's the real console driving simulator. Real racers use it and the best gt academy drivers can potentially become real racers. All without flash and confetti.
They did become real racing drivers, they even won the Bathurst 12H race in 2015 https://m.youtube.com/watch...
Just like PCars and Asetto Corsa... and as someone who is a huge motorsport fan and races cars in real life and is friends with people who build training simulators etc, Project Cars 2 is more realistic than Gran Turismo. Iracing is the best sim on the market and not available on console, and Forza MS 7 is a better game than GT. I own all of them on both consoles and have wheel setups, pedal setups with clutches and H pattern shifters so this is right down my lane (pun intended).
Pro Racers that uses Gran Turismo to practice would like to have a word with you.
@kayoss the many more professional racers who use PC sims would like to have a word with you :) That said, I'm not confiming what Kumakai is saying. While I do expect GTS to be less realistic, simply because it's built for controller as main input device, I don't think it would be too much of a difference. Sim racers on youtube who play games like AC and Pcars2 have tried it and some of them like the physics.
Kumakai I'm with you I think all the sims look amazing but from what I have seen in terms of closest to the real thing was a gagit show last year where they had pc2 on pc with vr on a moving seat to act like a car. They got a guy to drive round the track and then did the same on the gaming setup and for me it was very close in times and looked amazing to play. Im not a massive fan of gts or pc2 but they are impressive games with the right setup
GTS has a penalty system, which is not flawless and will always be tuned, but it keeps the races in check. Forza is one big slam show. That is a big difference for me.
Hasn't the Forza series moved towards casual market already? And I'm not talking about Forza horizon.
Almost 6 million players and counting : https://www.resetera.com/po...
Is good to see other racing games competition is always good, but you need to understand something, Gran Turismo can't be match in the best racing game outhere, Forza or Project Cars is kinda feels for casuals, Gran Turismo is for everyone, even professional racers ;)
"Project Cars is kinda feels for casuals" PCars is not more 'casual'. It's more hardcore, and leans more towards PC simulators, which are all more 'hardcore' than GTS. That said, if you're on console, GTS looks like the better option, especially with controller. PCars 2 seems to have too many issues, and doesn't look or run as good (don't know if they're sorted by now).
PC was horrible. The AI was always homicidal. I regret buying that game. Only reason I bought that game was because it was public funded and I really wanted to support the devs. After year of PC, I was wary about GT sports because I knew it was all online and though a fan of GT, I was sceptical about buying another sim racer because PC left a very bad taste. But few days before the launch, GT Sports had a demo and boy was it smooth as silk. I immediately pre ordered the game. I'm not a fan of MP racing but I still race online on GT Sports. That's how good it was for me.
I’m a big GT sport fan and it’s a return to form for the series........but it’s not realistic, it’s a sim/cade as insidesimracing call it. It’s an arcade racer, compare it to iRacing, Assetto Corsa, Rfactor 2 etc in terms of physics and it falls well short. But as I say I’m a big fan and I like it for what it is.
I mean these are real race car drivers what do they know.
Even Hamilton said that it felt like the real thing. Obviously using a controller that feeling might not be present but a good racing setup will.
You have real race car drivers telling you that GTS is the closest thing to the real thing and Hennessey is rebutting their claims. Its like trying to argue with a doctor when he tells you that you're over weight. And you claim that you're not over weight, you're just big boned.
yeah, a lot of professional racing drivers said that about Project Cars 2 as well. They even said that about the first game (which was bashed by the sim racing community for wonky physics). Do you want to know how many racing drivers have been using iRacing and Rfactor etc etc, and are part of those communities ? I'm willing to bet more than GTS. This is not a new thing, and I've seen it so many times, mostly with project cars games. This is a promotional video. Ofcourse they're going to say that. It's not like this is a compehensive review of all these games. Whether it stands up to PC sims, I have no clue, and neither do you. The fact that there's a driver in a GTS video saying this is the closest to reality doesn't mean much in this context. Plenty of pro drivers said similar things about PCars 2.
I love GT Sport. I really hope they add Touring Cars though, that's what that FIA license was all about!
Can you save offline yet? That's the only feature I'm waiting on.
I wonder what they use to practice in the rain, or what they use for the other 9 out of 12 tracks in the blancpain series that aren't even in GTSport.
That was kewl
i still would prefer a open world ....js
there are million games like that Gran Turismo is not going to be that
than it no longer top of the driving sim. nothing new in 20 years. pretty cars, great controls. been that way since 2. GT needs to get with the times
Dullest gran turismo ever. Tracks have no personality like the old games, whole thing feels sterile. Stop Infront of a full grandstand... Silence. The single player is just a series of single races tied together under a title, there's no actual progression or reward. Forza has left GT in the dirt and I don't even own an Xbox (well I have an old 360)
Awesome, i need to go jump in my set up now.
