Nintendo has just announced that the long awaited Nintendo Switch online services will launch in the second half of September later this year.
“Nintendo Switch online services confirmed to launch second half of September” This close to launch and still no set date. Crazy. “Save Data Cloud backup in compatible games” Really? Not all games will support cloud saves? That’s not good! Typical Nintendo.
““Save Data Cloud backup in compatible games” Old games need updates to support cloud saving you know. So this statement is not out of ordinary.
“The service provides access to online play & Save Data Cloud backup in compatible games” Wasup with that sketchy description. Would be more reassuring if cloud saving worked with every game, but this Nintendo we’re dealing with so I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a catch 🤨
Because Nintendo Switch Online is not going to work for every game from the start. Publishers and Developers are going to have to enable themselves. Just like the Capture Video feature. They have to do it themselves.
It’s not an issue of whether every game will have an online component, it’s that every save file should be able to uploaded to the cloud like it is on PSN & XBL.
That isn’t the case on PSN & XBL
Uh because it's not PSN or XBL Yall need to learn and except the Switch is not trying to be a PS4 or Xbox One. Once yall except that Yall will understand.
Exactly which makes the NSO service even that more janky
People keep supporting Nintendo shaddy tactics ...still no way to backup saves for free like it should be...
Lets start rushing and milking all those Smash Ultimate players..I like Nintendo games but Nintendo way of going thing sucks big time.
Slightly off topic, but I wish they'd bring back miiverse, or give us more to look at/do on the home screen. I thought I'd only need the online for Smash, but I only just found out the NES games included will feature online play. That's something at least
