Last year, Infinity Ward shocked the game industry when their modern day themed shooter Call of Duty 4 became one of the biggest selling games of the year. It's success, including solid sales on the PC version, made a lot of people wonder where the Call of Duty franchise would go next.
As it turned out, Infinity Ward will once again take a year-old breather while another Activision developer, Treyarch, handles this year's entry in the franchise. But Call of Duty: World at War, while using the same graphics engine Infinity Ward made for Call of Duty 4, will return the series back to its WWII shooter roots.
