Xbox One and Switch are the only systems that are up YOY apparently

They have both been up YoY for the last 6 months or so. About the same time the PS4 has been down YoY. That tells me that PS4 sales have begun to slow but nothing to get too worked up about. It's still the cream of the crop.

Slow is relative, it's still BY FAR the best selling console. And the thing is 2017 was xbox's worst year since launch where as 2017 was PS4's best year. So you have to put things in perspective.

PS4 is 1.5 million unit ahead of 2016/2015 where as xbox is basically even with 2016/2015.

PS4 is still very very strong and the clear market leader.

I just noticed something about VGC’s Xbox One numbers.

Xbox One sold 7,908,581 units in 2014
Xbox One sold 8,631,257 units in 2015
Xbox One sold 8,368,621 units in 2016
Xbox One sold 7,647,153 units in 2017

Thus far it seems that 2015 has been the peak year for Xbox One. However Xbox One has sold more in the first half of 2018 than it had in the first half of 2015. If this pace continues 2018 will be the new peak year. If it can’t keep the pace then it’ll be a damn shame for Microsoft that after the release of Halo 5, the console had been going in a downward trend commercially year after year.
