Are expiring licenses bad news for video game preservation?

The 10 year anniversary of GTA IV is just behind us and it came with an obligatory update which removed a number of songs due to their expiring licenses. One station hit particularly hard is fan favourite Vladivostok FM. What now?

The story is too old to be commented.

Yes, just like online only DRM.

If a game has an expiry date I won't touch it, The Division, for Honor, Steep, Anthem...

They are all games I would play, except they have always online DRM. One day those servers will be turned off. Good bye game forever.

You wouldn't buy a Blu-ray if it expired in 10 years would you?
