That's a misguided plea.

No games should have multiplayer locked behind Plus or Gold. The way the game is monetised makes no difference to that what-so-ever. It is ridiculous when the same games on the same servers are available on PC without the subscription. Moving F2P to the right side of the paywall would be one less kick in the balls, but they'd still be kicking you in the balls.

Sony have F2P games on the right side of the wall, but it should be abundantly clear that this is a strategic decision to make more money and not some pro-consumer gesture. A core concept of the F2P model is reducing barriers to entry, to maximise micro-transaction revenue.

Ditching the multiplayer paywall altogether would be a pro-consumer move worth cheering. Anything less is continued poor form.

I thought F2P meant the "game" was free. I never once considered all the other factors like subscriptions or ISP or even the power company.

Seeing as Sony left the F2P games outside their walled garden then Ms should do the same. BUT... if one is already paying for online multiplayer then having games that don't cost you anything to play them just sort of fits into the same walled garden.

I am a live gold member so I already pay to play online and if this game came along and it didnt cost me anything to acquire it then I prob wouldn't make a fuss about it being on the same side as my other games. I see it as inclusive.

Yup all f2p games on xbox indeed arent free u need a gold sub in order to play them..Y isnt Microsoft getting shit for this...But hey they actually free on ps4. No need for a subscription
