E3 2018: Fallout 76 looks to shake up the MMO genre

During E3 2018, Bethesda officially revealed that the next chapter in the Fallout universe would be their take on another massively multiplayer online roleplaying game. Fallout 76 could be a fresh MMO that brings a very unique angle to the genre.

Pretty sure they said 12 players actually but I would be more than happy to be proven wrong tho
Edit: nvm it's actually 24 players per server

MMO stands for Massively Multiplayer Online. FPS can be an MMO, like PlanetSide 2.

Fallout 76 won't be an MMO, because it will only feature dozens of players in a server. Not thousands, therefore, can't qualify as an MMO.

Exactly. It needs to be "massively" multiplayer. People keep referring to games like Destiny, Division, etc., as MMOs when they really aren't.

I don’t know what the definition of massive is for an MMO, but I’m certain it’s not sub-1000 players
