Same month as Days Gone and Crackdown 3.

That's hilarious

Seriously...12 Months in a year and you choose the same month as two other big games.

Days gone will be in trouble as Anthem is from Bioware...I hope Days gone sells well.

Days Gone won't be in trouble 😂

That game has a large amount of hype behind it, also people have a good amount of love for Sony first party games. They seem to break records every time one releases.

Anthem and Days gone will sell very well, Crackdown...maybe.

They chose feb 2019 because it makes sense for their company when compared to their other releases. It's a good release to finish of the fiscal year.

Also getting a good game out early in 2019 is key because I have a feeling we are going to be getting a lot of good games in late 2019.

As far as potential sales go, Anthem has the highest chance to sell the most (due to being on PC, PS4 and X1), followed by Crackdown - and lastly Days Gone. Solely due to platforms.. I'm, personally, interested in all 3 and will have to watch them as they get closer to release.

will launch for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on February 19

It actually launches day and date with Days Gone. It'll be very interesting to see how all 3 fair, because they are considered major titles.

Further more, Anthem has MS marketing behind it. So it'll be intriguing to see who out spends who on advertising...

The Anthem Presentation today was lack luster. It had a strong showing when it was first unveiled

@Sevir

it would be hilarious if MS spend more on marketing Anthem than Crapdown 3

You mean same month as Days Gone. Crackdown 3 is gonna be vaporware. And at least Days Gone has shown lots of gameplay and looks like an actual worked-on game. That Anthem "gameplay" looked like crap. The framerate was pathetic.

I think publishers are beginning to catch on to the fact that releasing their games in Q1 is profitable, as games can enjoy advertising space. I just hope Q1 doesn't become the new 'holiday season'.

Edit: Days Gone, Crackdown 3, and now Anthem all releasing in the same month, will be very interesting to watch.

Isn’t February Q4 for the video game industry? I thought that q4 ended either at the beginning or end of March?

ArchangelMike14d ago (Edited 14d ago )

You're right, if speaking about the financial year. I think it breaks down like this, (but please correct me if I'm wrong)

Q1 = Apr 1st -> Jun 30th
Q2 = July 1st -> Sept 31st
Q3 = Oct 1st -> Dec 31st
Q4 = Jan 1st -> Mar 31st

Anthem its mainly a co-op online game,and Will not take that much on the sales of Days Gone or even Crackdown 3 since this two have a Single Player focus first and most.

timbo0814d ago

And cause Crackdown will be a fn mess

ImGumbyDammit14d ago (Edited 14d ago )

We haven't seen Crackdown in a year. That is plenty of time to fix some of the complaints (which were not really about gameplay but the graphics). Days Gone another delayed game has some recent gameplay impressions by GameSpot and Eurogamer that were not that flattering. So, we will see who makes fixes and who doesn't.
