In a historic deal, the entertainment company Nordisk Film will acquire all shares and take full ownership of leading open world game developer Avalanche Studios (Just Cause, Mad Max, theHunter).
Can't wait to see what they produce!
Weird that they're going to produce RAGE 2 with Bethesda when they just got bought
Yea, it does seem weird, you usually think of companies getting bought by major game publishers. In this case from what i gather from the article they will just continue to do contract work. And if they hold the license for games like Rage and Just Cause (WB I'm sure holds the Mad Max license) they can continue those franchises and just have Nordisk Film publish them one would assume. Either way it's an unique partnership that will be interesting to watch in the future.
A strange deal indeed; then again, Annapurina Interactive has been a thing for a couple years now.
This kind of worries me... they are making the new Rage game, right? Will that be affected at all?
Nah. They have to keep the same level of commitment to it, due to the thorough contract they must've signed beforehand.
I think that occured, because Square Enix stated that Just Cause 3 failed them by not selling as they expected.
Nordisk Film is Sonys distributor in Sweden and they suck ass. Hopefully they clean up their act.
Hope they still make "The Hunter" games. The Hunter: Call of the Wild is the best hunting game iv ever played and i feel there is so much they can do to make the game even better with more animals or some unique mythical super rare creatures like big foot or something fun like that.
