Continuing GotGame’s E3 2018 predictions from yesterday, the focus shifts to the makers of the Xbox. Here is GotGame’s predictions for Microsoft at E3 2018.
Forza Horizon 4/5 Gears of War 5 Possibly a 2nd Quantum Break Third Party Games Everything will be called exclusive in one way or another regardless of reality, truth, integrity or the nature of the English language. We know Forza and Gears are confirmed because of the 'glitch'.
I think Remedy is working on a different game right now, plus Quantum Break was such an expensive project for them due to the live action show portion. But yea, Microsoft is typically pretty predictable.
MS could always out source QB as they own the ip.
Steam App on Xbox, it's only a matter of time. It would be a great time to showcase it this year for a fall/winter release.
My optimistic prediction. Crackdown 3 ( july) Ori 2 Aug Forza horizon (sept) Gears 5 October. Ashen (nov) Spartan assault 2 ( Dec) Possibly 1 new game. Halo 6 March QB 2 reveal New ip reveal
We don’t know gears is coming. That list also said just cause 3, but avalanche studios is doing rage.
There are rumblings of scalebound coming back, oddly. Going to predict that.
@Eonjay Sounds funny, right? Trust me, there´ll be lots of tears, jealousy, and upset people after Microsoft´s E3 press conference this year. Mark my words!
Not really. I think everyone is just hoping that Xbox gamers get something worth it. And something new that looks good. All the stuff we know for for Sony's conference is stuff everyone wants to play. We have everything. xbox deserves something good too.
"Trust me, there´ll be lots of tears, jealousy, and upset people after Microsoft´s E3 press conference this year." Yeah. But from which side? I'm sure you'll get a new mid-tier GaaS game to hype up as if it's the next big thing though. So there is that to look forward to.
@Eonjay "All the stuff we know for for Sony's conference is stuff everyone wants to play. We have everything. xbox deserves something good too." I agree.
@rainslacker "Yeah. But from which side?" You know which side. But just in case you forgot, i gonna give you a hint: *Japanese games* "I'm sure you'll get a new mid-tier GaaS game to hype up as if it's the next big thing though. So there is that to look forward to." Yeah, and i´m sure that i'm fine with the GaaS games, so I'm not going to look like a stupid hypocrite when i hype up GaaS games like The Last of Us 2 and Death Stranding.
I'm fine with GaaS type games too. Just not to the exclusion of everything else. Every Sony game can have a MP mode, they can GaaS that up. They can even have full on GaaS games which don't appeal to me. But if that's all they had, I'd be complaining about them too. We'll see how they handle SP games in long running franchises with them wanting to put all their new games on Game Pass day one. I'm not holding out hope it'll be anything great, but maybe MS will prove me wrong.
My not-gonna-happen but so cool if it did prediction (er... wish) is a Windows based gaming handheld under the Xbox brand.
The Xbrick. It needs to happen lol
I wish they'd support remote play on android devices.
lots of "World Premier Exclusives"
Yep. That was a weak list of games. Thats the list. Saved you peeps some clicks 1) Halo 6 2) Gears 5 3) Forza Horizon 4 4) The Last Night 5) Dead Rising
343i already said they will be there with something, but no Halo 6. And Gears 5 and Horizon 4 are predictable. They better have more to show than 2 predictable games, and rehsowing of a game from last E3 and... Dead Rising...
Halo Gears and Forza... why am i not suprised
To be fair, Microsoft holds the smallest stable of franchises between the big three, and this list is mostly focused on games Microsoft publishes. Believe me, if Microsoft does something to wow us, it would be amazing. But keep in mind other stuff like Anthem and Shadow of the Tomb Raider isn’t really theirs to show.
5 years later, same shoe, same smelly ol'sock. Nothing that warrants the purchase of an Xbox, imho. One additional year more and I bet with you all, that Microsoft will jump the gun one more time, by releasing the next Xbox Two. One that's BC and much befier than the Xbox X and offers new visuals aka ngen. Dunno how they're going to stay afloat for the next few years... without repeating everything again.
I predict no matter what they show, it will be used in arguments by enthusiasts for the next 3 years... Can't wait!
3 years because within that time frame, they usually don't got much to talk about.
A lot of xbox & windows 10 exclusives !!!!
Honestly I think cyberpunk will be on Microsoft’s stage and it’s the game I’m most looking forward to on any console.
I'm going to say New Halo Forza Fable 4 Gears of War 5 Sea of Thieves updates Minecraft Stuff Something about PUBG Third Party Games -Shadow of the Tomb Raider will be shown Third Party Games - P7 (Remedy's New Game) Third Party Games - Anthem A new game first party
@-Foxtrot That´s a pretty good list tbh. You just forgot about the JAPANESE games! (well, maybe you didn´t. I forgot that you don´t believe in Phil Spencer´s words) Lol.
Cool thing bout owning all platforms is that you walk away from these events with a huge shopping list!
Cool thing about only owning 2 of the 3 same shopping list and 500 more for buying it
So, which systems are you referring to? PlayStation and PC or PlayStation and Switch? Either of those combos and you're still missing out or was that you're attempt at trolling? However, please show me the shopping list where you only own 2 platforms but get all the games.
xbox is pointless, you take it out of the equation and add a pc and what do you lose? Sunset overdrive and Halo 5. 2 games out of the 1000 or so games that are on xbox and already confirmed that whenever halo 6 comes it will be available for pc. Microsoft is writing themselves out of relevance if their decrease in game creation wasn't enough of a sign they don't care about console gaming, they look at gabe at valve and get all jealous that he gets a cut of all of pc gaming without actually putting in any effort. Microsoft from top to bottom are suits interested in money, Nintendo and Playstation are run from high up by "creatives" people that want to make a living creating wonderful stuff and sharing it. Microsoft would sell you nothing if they could, those at the others exist to make a PRODUCT.
so i'm confuse. - MS is a software company, so they are selling software as much as possible including putting it on window 10, which is also their platform for the PC. What is wrong with supporting both of their platforms, as well as having more chances to sell software (which is the main money maker)? - There are always place for consoles. If everyone has a PC, why hasn't multiplatform games sell more on PC, versus console, like PS4 for example? Didn't multiplatform games sell more on PS4 vs. PC? Shouldn't PC be the superior platform of choices for multiplatform game, not to include mods, free online, etc...? Unless you hated the digital world and want to maintain the physical disc world where you "own" the game, then there is no point in buying game on PC. Based on what i observed on N4G, a lot of you want owner ship don't you, then stop buying game on PC because it is digital only. - Can everyone afford a good gaming PC (much higher cost than a console), as well as requiring some knowledge in updating and maintenance a PC (which takes a lot more than simply plug and play). - And even if you get a PC, which operating system are mostly used? Window or Linux? And even if they put their 1st party games on Steam, and you buy it on steam, are you sure you aren't giving MS money because MS made those games? So either way, wouldn't you be supporting MS regardless if you are getting a PC instead for their window 10 games? That is the smart move by MS. Those that want console, not a PC, can get the xbox for xbox games. Those that hated xbox with a passion (which seems like a majority of people on n4g), can get the game on window instead. They can still sell you their product even though you said you hated them. That is the key, they don't care if you hated them or not, all they want is you to buy their product (software). You guys don't think thing through. If you really hated MS with a passion, don't buy any of their product (games, xbox, window 10, etc...) none.
ludicrous what games? they've released 1 game this year Sea of Thieves We are nearly halfway through the year and 1 game with a 70 on meta critic is all they've released. State of Decay 2 is still not out but early talk is it ain't all that good either.
My god, that is one of the biggest loads of s**t I've ever read.
@ludicrous "That is the smart move by MS. Those that want console, not a PC, can get the xbox for xbox games. They will continue to support Microsoft, no matter what they say!
" Those that want console, not a PC, can get the xbox for xbox games. Those that hated xbox with a passion (which seems like a majority of people on n4g), can get the game on window instead. " You're really assuming that MS is producing games that people really want. Smarter move would be to make more games that more people want. That would drive both console sales, and PC gaming sales to push their Windows imperative.
I have all three systems, and MS hasn't given me much to add to my shopping list since Quantum Break. I've actually taken more stuff off my list than added to it in the past couple years.
@rainslacker Yeah, Microsoft got a number on you though you never gonna admit this fact.
Whatever number they have on me is by their own doing. I haven't been this negative about MS until they started to suck. I've been critical about some stuff, but their complete and utter dropping of the ball this gen made me go from optimistic enough to buy into their console, only to be made a fool because they pretty much ended up being exactly what I knew they were for decades now. If MS made some games that interested me, then I'd buy them. I'm fine with them relying on their staples, but there is a huge difference between what they showed promise for at the start of this gen, compared to what they've become in the past couple years.
@rainslacker Like i told you too many times man, it´s hard to take people like you seriously when you refuse to give up and move on. Are you enjoy to suffer? Just sell, donate, or destroy your damn console and end this!
Or hold them accountable. I know that's hard for you to accept, but I spent money based on their marketing, and they failed to deliver big time. You may be willing to just accept whatever crap they throw out for you, but I prefer to practice consumerism and voice my displeasure with what they are doing. If I didn't spend money on the system, then yeah, I would have moved on. I'm sure soon enough, me, and many others will move on, because they already are.
They'll probably keep their vow to release all of their exclusives on PC day 1, hopefully with cross-play. How about a Game Pass for PC (not just Play Anywhere) and XBox 360 emulation on PC as part of that?
Things I think are obvious -Halo 6- Fall 2019 Release -Ori 2- Summer to Early Fall 2018 -Forza Horizon 4- Fall 2018 -Crackdown 3- Summer 2018 -Battlefield V marketing Deal Hoping for based on leak from earlier this year -Perfect Dark Reboot for early 2019 -Mechassault (or other Battletech game) for Mid 2019 Hoping for with no real evidence Age of Empires V for Xbox One (with keyboard and mouse support) Banjo Kazooie 20th anniversary game Other: I don't think the Fable reboot will be announced as it likely not coming next year Gears 5 will only be announced if its a 2019 title. Things I don't want to see: - A long Minecraft segment (The game isn't exclusive to MS despite them owning it, and it really doesn't need much exposure) -A car on stage and a long Forza section (I am biased against racing games lol) -Halo and or Gears spin-offs, both series should just focus on making their next entries as strong as possible. Spin-offs of these series will just emphasis MS as not being confident with new IPs. - A bunch of indies
Ori wont be until 2019
Really? I really wanted Ori 2 to come out this year.
I absolutely want gears and halo spin offs. I think it shows that MS is confident in the IP enough to step out from the main series games.
Halo already has Halo Wars and the Spartan Assault & Strike games. Halo Wars 2 appears to have not performed well. Also, Spartan Assault and Strike were not well received. 343i should be as invested into Halo 6 as much as possible and potentially do none Halo projects in the future. The Coalition should just focus and Gears of War 5 to make the game as good as possible. The Coalition should also have creative freedom to do known Gears projects such as the rumored Perfect Dark reboot.
Well, i’m going to say this, but I think you are not going to like the idea. Halo and Gears need God Of War treatment. I’m not saying it need to be like God Of War, but those two games need God Of War treatment. Like a soft reboot.
@UCForce I agree with you on Gears of War!
Revamped Crackdown graphics
I predict theyll have an OK showing despite being the weakest of the big 3.. Everything was leaked so most gamers have an idea what to expect.. A couple surprise multiplat partnerships and 1-2 compelling exclusives.
@DivineAssault The only confirmed title on Microsoft stage this year is Forza Horizon 4. The rest is just rumors and wild guesses. Shawn Layden leaked most of Sony´s E3 presentation himself. And you can´t be serious if you expect to Nintendo to WOW anybody with big surprises now that Zelda and Mario is out and the fact that we already know that Metroid, Pokemon and Smash Brothers is on development. Outside of those games, what else is there? A new F-Zero?
Are you nuts??? Nintendo is going to smoke Microsoft this year.. Metroid, Bayonetta 3, Smash bros, and possibly Fire emblem or pokemon.. Those are heavy hitters dude.. Me or you might not care for some but those games will move units easy..If all MS has is the status quo like Gears, Forza, Halo, they have no hope this gen for any kind of redemption.. Crackdown is another blah title that might get hyped up.. But sony & nintendo are all good..
@DivineAssault You said people are expecting what Microsoft has to show and those games is gonna be meh games. But somehow the already announced games for the Switch is gonna blow everybody´s minds? Ok dude
Throwing in Scalebound as a hopeful and potentially a sequel to either ryze or sunset overdrive
Why do I have the feeling that I can pretty much skip MS's presentation this E3?
