I find these charts to be questionable. VGchartz keeps reporting these huge gains for xbox and I'm not saying xbox isn't selling better than last year but these 30% figures are extremely hard to believe and don't line up with NPD (which yes I know isn't global) or other tracking firms.

I'm interested to hear what Sony's numbers are at E3, I have a feeling vgchartz will be under tracked by a larger than normal margin.

This is yoy, not consoles sold, its $$ not who sold more, its revenue

gamerzero115d ago (Edited 115d ago )

It's not revenue it's consoles sold and I understand it's year over year.

If your going to call someone out you should be sure YOU can read and understand the chart.

mikeslemonade115d ago

BS that people think this is rumor. Sales figures don't need to be 100% accurate. Ballpark figures are good enough when you have so much variance.

Doughhead115d ago

I think you mistook what I was referring to. and nice edit on your post.

gamerzero115d ago

My edit was literally seconds after I typed it for grammatical purposes and N4G has a 15 minute limit so I'm not even sure what you think I would have changed or how an edit would have changed what I said. It's not like I changed it after you replied.

And again, you said "This is yoy, not consoles sold,, its $$ not who sold more, its revenue"

If you read the article and look at the charts you'll see that the information is Year Over Year CONSOLE SALES

Last year up to April 14'th(ish) xbox sold 1,296,965 CONSOLES this year up to April 14'th xbox sold 1,699,919 which is approximately 31% more consoles than last year.

Honestly the things your saying are dumb, you clearly didn't understand what you were talking about in your initial reply then you doubled down by failing to understand how N4G works and trying to make something out of it in a way that doesn't even matter.

Those YoY numbers obviously saw a boost due the X´s success.

@Obscure_Observer

Well, I question the validity of the amount of growth that Microsoft's has had I think vgcharts is over tracking. I do however agree that there has been growth and it's fair to attribute that to x.

But the reality is it doesn't really matter when Sony has 60 and growing percent of the total market share and continues to sell nearly 3x as many consoles. And while Switch hasn't topped xbox in market share it will sometime early next year due to the fact that it's selling 2x as many consoles month after month.

Phil Spencer is doing a great job on Xbox One when we´re not talking about exclusive first party games. These numbers are only further proof on the why he got promoted to VP.

ConsoleGamer115d ago (Edited 115d ago )

Agreed, from a shareholder point of view he is ace. From a console gamer point of view he is a total catastrophy and continue to damage the xbox brand while keeping that shmuckish grin in his face.
