Curious if this affects Nvidia future with nintendo considering the exploit is found on their X1 tengra, now on the switch (literally a paper clip)

Im not surprised tbh that the switch was gacked in such a short time.

I just hope this doesnt have any major downside to it for us that plan on playing legit.

the most surprising thing is that its done by using some type of custom lego block that pushes 2 pins inside the switch.

You can short the pin without the tool, but the tool exists for the non-technically inclined.

Me too, I would never have bought one due to Nintendo's lame eShop, anti-consumer policies, and overpriced games, but if I can just pay for the system by itself and not worry about all that, it might be fun to play around with.

Hopefully this pushes them to implement a way to do save file backups without the need to hack your Switch. Along with any other features that might come along.

Good news let the homebrew begin ^_^. Nintendo should not be worried at all why should they? It's not like your typical gamer is going to go through the process of hacking their Switch to play ROMS or homebrew software. This is for people like me :D that like to tinker with electronics hacking it, running ROMS and other software. And that is a very small % that would not impact Nintendo in any way. Plus the Switch is going to continue to sell and sell, as well as their games. If I had the knowledge, I would try to hack every console to run custom software :D

Hacking pretty much killed the PSP support. I can be a big problem. I hope it wont be the case with the swtich becauae i have one.

Nintendo is going to sell a whole lot of hardware because of this, just like what happened with the Wii and DS when they were hacked.

Not sure if they'll be too upset. Most Nintendo fans already bought the Switch and will buy the 1dt party games. Now they'll be selling to part of the market who are more reluctant about picking up a Nintendo console and games, and this hack will push them over the edge.

Theres already a new and custom revision board been produced for release starting June. Release Switch boards were using Tegra X1 with this hardware flaw but the chip was not custom because of the time constrains to get the Switch out for sale,new board is X1 but will be custom.Nintendo is paying for there mistakes and rush to release the Switch.

Interested to see where the modding goes with the switch. I do love my console and would like to run other emulators off it. Also maybe a 3rd party media app (YouTube/Netflix or something if possible).
