Microsoft's debut games console, the Xbox, made a big impact on gaming, but not all of its games got the attention they deserved.
After a nearly 14 year hiatus since the Original Xbox Live shut down in 2010, Halo 2's online matchmaking will return in public beta form on March 15th at 20:00 GMT (16:00 EST, 13:00 PST) with 10 multiplayer playlists, via the Xbox Live 1.0 replacement Insignia. Clans, matchmaking, voice chat, friends, and scoreboards will all be supported at launch this Friday. Sign up is available at Insignia.live for any Original Xbox owners/XEMU users.
To get started, see the super easy guide below on registering. Simply requires one cable and a USB drive with a file in order to get the console registered.

Funny, I was playing the Halo 2 campaign on hard last night, I forgot how hard that game was.
Far Cry debuted on March 23, 2004, meaning that next week, it will have been 20 years since Jack Carver first washed up on the shore of a tropical paradise teeming with hostile mercenaries.
I'd love a far cry pack with the original PC game (not the half assed port on ps360) instincts, predator even a port of far cry 2 to modern consoles back when these games had their own identity and weren't far cry 3 cut and pastel
Given the medium's wild diversity, this primer of the essential video games everyone should try is a good place to start.
I can't fk with this list. They missed on alot of games probably before the writers times. Also I know people loved some portal but I was never a fan.
Tomb Raider 1
Driver 1
Abe’s Odyssey
FF6
King of Fighters 94
Mortal Kombat OG
LINK 2 the past
Street Fighter 2
Resident Evil 1
Infinite but not the first two games? Witcher 3 but not the first two games?? GTA V but not literally any of the games before it??? Portal 2 but not the first? Also if you're going to play Shadow of The Colossus play the remaster and not the remake. Can't say I disagree with the list but my man it's all over the place.
Awesome list! Hot take on Fear (and it's hard af expansion Persaus Mandate!) Bioshock Infinite is stellar, so is the Witcher 3 and you nailed it by having Ocarina of Time. So many fantastic games! Gotta play 'em all! Next one on my list is Prey after I beat Dead Space 2 and Splinter Cell Conviction.
“Microsoft's Xbox was a tough competitor, giving the company a secure foothold, which it would later take advantage of in the next generation with the Xbox 360's dominance.”
You call selling the least amount of consoles in Asia, Europe, and the rest of the world which resulted in selling the least units globally in total dominance?
Pretty solid list of games. Outrun 2 is still one of my favorites.
The console sold less than 40 mil.
great list!!
Love when any article mentions "Armed and Dangerous" a game that had some of the best writing I've seen. Thoroughly hilarious and very clever.
Another game comes to mind that I didn't see on this list was "Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy", had too much fun with that one back in the day.
And ow many of them were or remained exclusive to the system...
