GamesRadar: LittleBigPlanet Review

Nothing like LittleBigPlanet has ever existed before. Even if nobody buys it, the file servers remain empty, and the co-op space stays a barren wasteland, it's still a rock-solid platformer with enough levels and fun to justify your money. If you loved LEGOs and never lost that love for building and creating, you've got a lifetime of experimentation and play ahead of you.

And if the world falls in love with it, as they should, LittleBigPlanet is absolutely the best game on the PS3, the best game of 2008 on any console, and the best toybox you'll ever get to play with.

if these reviews are giving 10s like this, then Sony Should go out there and Buy Media Molecule and keep that team together. They just started something here that Developers have never done before.

crazy250003625d ago

or they could just publish all their games

normally I wouldn't think buy MM is necessary but knowing MS, they'll probably snatch them up when Sony's not looking.....

Sony basically put MM on the map, and a company with 30 workers wouldn't be costly at all.....but im pretty sure MM wants to remain independent

El_Colombiano3625d ago

There is NO way 30 people made Little Big Planet. It's not logical, how can a mere 30 people make a genre defining game!? Those 30 devs, are demigods.

meepmoopmeep3625d ago (Edited 3625d ago )

if Sony didn't buy the rights and support them, they would be like the creators of The Last Guy, minus the goat.

Sony already owns the LBP IP.
acquiring MM isn't necessary, but a great thank you to MM

its easy, its called dedication. If you and your team believe that you can make a AAA game that has never been done before, it can be done. Sony Also Backed them up since they like indie development. they gave Media Molecule the Technology needed to make this game possible, which is the PS3 and the PSN, Open Network FTW.

read the box on the right and go to 'Employees'
I was wrong lol, only 25 people made the game

SSCOOLCHEA3625d ago

that sony has no limits to whose making games for them . Just look at everyday shooter . they give everybody a chance .

BYE3625d ago

It's totally logical that it's done by 25 people.

Games like LBP are simple and cheap to make.

No motion capturing and voice recording required f.e.

DARKKNIGHT3625d ago

I agree.......must have game!!

INehalemEXI3625d ago

Yup, Open Network ftw. I love LBP and Appreciated the Mod support in UT3.

"Games like LBP are simple and cheap to make. "

Low-cost? Perhaps. Simple? Far from it.

But creating a open-ended engine like that could easily take a good amount of budget.

Media Molecule has truly created something special. They deserve every perfect score this game gets.

These next 5 days are going to be the longest of 2008...LBP FTW

Nitrowolf23625d ago (Edited 3625d ago )

Good reviews, Next week will be a great week to be a PS3 owner
22 Perfect scores
13 between 90-99
and one 99.9

Super Mario Galaxy > LBP by a country mile.

Nothing else needs to be said.

except that you cant edit your level in Mario Galaxy. Mario Galaxy doesn't give "power to the Players" does it?

IzKyD13313625d ago

how do you compare the two?
Mario Galaxy's a 3D platformer, Littlebigplanet is......everything

El_Colombiano3625d ago

Hahah perfect quote man. Littlebigplanet is......everything

pwnsause3625d ago

BTW, nintendo was pissed that Little Big Planet is on the PS3 last year at GDC, just to piss you off a bit more:
