PS4 should overtake Wii by the end of 2019 or the beginning of 2020

PS4 has a good chance of closing the gap by the end of 2018 for ALIGNED SALES. Wii only sold 11m - 12m consoles in it's 5th year, which means PS4 has to sell 20m console to take the lead, which is highly possibly considering they sold that much last year, and they have a ton of AAA games launching this year, and a permanent price drop down to $199 for a base PS4, $199 PSVR, and $349 for a PS4 Pro are very likely.

From there it's only a matter of time before the PS4 overtakes the Wii's total sales, holiday 2019.

vgchartz articles should be treated as speculation, they are probably somewhere in the ballpark but not accurate enough to take 100% seriously.
