Fascinating how all the games listed were Japanese productions. This piece isn't just limited to gaming as numerous anime's have also taken inspiration from the work or outright used it. It makes sense the Japanese would use a piece of melancholy and fond remembrance juxtaposed against the weight of reality--that's pretty much most anime. I think the piece just strikes a cord with a whole culture of people pressured to grow up immediately--where memories of childhood and blissful ignorance are even more precious.
