TeamXbox writes: "On Monday, Activision gave some lucky gamers the opportunity to check out the multiplayer modes for the upcoming quasi-sequel, Call of Duty: World at War. I only say "quasi" because it's not quite Call of Duty 5, and it's not being developed by Infinity Ward. Treyarch has the reins this time, and anyone who's had their hands on the game at all (including everyone on the beta) can tell that the series seems to be in good hands.
Or at least the multiplayer seems to be. Even though the current beta is rather limited in its content – five modes to play on three maps, with the level cap set at 11 – anyone who enjoyed Call of Duty 4's multiplayer gameplay (i.e. just about everyone) should instantly see the DNA flowing through World at War. It's so close to CoD4, it might as well be a really well done mod."
