Fortnite’s latest patch rolled out today (a little later than expected) and added new features to the Battle Royale and Save the World components of the game.
https://www.epicgames.com/f... "Contrary to what may have been implied, Microsoft has long been a leading voice in supporting cross-platform play, connecting players across PC, mobile and all consoles. We’ve been working together with them over the last several months to make this possible, and will bring this functionality to Fortnite players on Xbox right along with other platforms." So does this mean it will eventually be crossplay with everything?
but the PS4 as sony isn’t allowing cross console play. I could even see it with the switch if it gets announced as the xbox and switch already have a handful of games that are or will be cross console
Sony doesn't need cross console play. They're doing just fine without it.
Then why are they doing it with PC if they don't need it? This isn't about needing it. There are enough players, it's called an option and from a consumer view it could be beneficial in long run to keep enough people playing. Some Playstation games are no longer active so they shut the game servers off so it's not like Sony is immune and has a large pool of players for every game. Sony's decision is not always based on consumer interest but rather their own. So the idea that it's Xbox that needs this (which is all you guys want to suffer the most for some reason and why you continually support Sony's stance) is irrelevant because it's the developers and gamers asking.
MS never wanted to cross play last gen and now they are trying to make themselves look like there are not in the wrong about sony not wanting to cross play. quite frankly I am ok with this. if you want to play with PS4 people get a PS4, if not stay on XBOX. Too many kids anyway on XBOX for my taste I'm happy if it stays this way.
