Metal Gear Survive Makes You Pay for Additional Saves

To make a new character (and effectively a new game save) in Metal Gear Survive, players either have to delete their existing avatar or pay 1,000 SV coins. SV Coins are the in-game currency that players can purchase with real world money in Metal Gear Survive, and to get 1,000 of them, players will have to shell out a minimum of $10.

Oh my god, are you seriously, Konami ?

UltraNova298d ago I've got nothing.

F*** you Konami.

outsider1624297d ago

Just for a save? A freaking save file? Dear God, please don't let this be the standard now...

TheCommentator297d ago

At least you don't have to pay to use Survive as a dating service!

RacerX297d ago

I hope this drives a nail right through Konami's heart.

jmc8888297d ago

That's because the dating service will be paid dlc ;)

Well this is Konami and this was going to happen and everyone knew it and there's no reason to keep giving this company anymore chances. That literally is the definition of insanity with kaname.

Sam Fisher298d ago

Yea but 10$ for a f$&@!ng save file?? Wow i think these companies are truly trying to compete on who can fail the fastest

_-EDMIX-_297d ago

Well I'm not sure I could say but I would never give the publisher any chances simply that they would need to be faithful to what the series actually is with a remake of some of those Originals.

So I could not say never because we don't really know what's going to happen with them in the next few years, but sure if they keep this up I could definitely see me never purchasing it if they're just going to keep doing what we see here.

_-EDMIX-_297d ago

Metal Gear Solid would be fine without kojima they said. 😂😂😂

That man and his team were the only people that were seriously holding that series. This is why I buy games based on development teams and not simply based on the intellectual property alone.

solid_snake3656297d ago

Metal Gear Solid may be fine out Kojima, but Metal Gear Survive sure as heck won't. LOL

rainslacker297d ago

And I used to be annoyed I could only have 10 characters on any given server on WOW.

Only one character at a time, when they do have the structure to support more is just greedy.

ZombieKiller297d ago

Is anyone even a bit surprised by this (apart from it being a new "low" in the games industry)?!

It's Konami FFS.
They suck. Hands down.

Ignore them and hopefully they'll go away. They don't make games like they used to anyway. Time for them to die out in the fart and whimper they deserve.

I was done with them once they were done with Koji Pro.

Axecution297d ago (Edited 297d ago )

This is pretty bs for a paid game but... strictly for sake of being devils advocate here, most games dont give you a second save for online anyway. I'm not really sure what the benefits of this are tbh

trooper_297d ago

That's the biggest load of bull I have ever read.
They don't have shame or something?!

F Konami being even dumber than EA

moegooner88298d ago

After all the backlash, and they go ahead and do this. They are vaguely saying **** you to the fans.

ZombieKiller297d ago

Vaguely? This is pretty blatant.

Big ol' middle finger to everyone that liked the series.

ZombieKiller297d ago

EA set the bar extremely low and Konami was up for the challenge.

Relientk77298d ago

More microtransaction BS. Wish people would stop paying for crap like this.

monkey602298d ago

And that's just the thing. If people didn't buy them we wouldn't have the problem

madforaday297d ago

The people who are buying these games are NOT on these sites and forums. We have to remember we are in the minority when it comes this stuff.

This is ridiculous though, a save file.

Sciurus_vulgaris298d ago

Looks like this new release will be dead on arrival.

FallenAngel1984298d ago

Konami finds new ways to sink lower

TheEnigma313297d ago

Exactly. This makes EA look better, and that's hard to do. Damn MTs are getting out of hand.
