MS finds reason for Asia 360 shortage...

From CVG:

Microsoft is suing cargo hauler DHL Express for allegedly losing 21,600 Xbox 360s in a train derailment.

The platform holder is seeking over $2 million in damages from DHL, claiming that the Xbox 360s sustained "impact damage, wetting, pilfering and shortage" after the derailment in Texas, USA. No Red Rings of Death were reported.

Microsoft claims that DHL has refused to compensate it for the loss, even though the delivery service "negligently breached its duties as a common carrier, handler, bailee, warehouseman, agent, or in other capabilities," according to the court papers.

DHL hasn't commented on the alleged incident.

360 arcade does appeal to the mass market, and they improved with the RROD but still not fixed, i think now any people with low income can afford 360, its cheap and have so many games and the most important thing is its hacked, so they can buy very cheap copied games!!

while the ps3 is still milking out the deeper wallets customers!!!

but hey u pay for what get, ps3 is several times better than 360, but its not appealing to the mass market yet, not even the main ps2 owners see the need to jump in right now!! not at the price and game library, but with littlebigplanet, things can change a lot, it depends on how well sony advertise the game!!

as for me am still waiting for a price cut, besides i dont have HDTV so no need to hurry, and i think many people like me!

advise to sony, depending on the sales of ps3 and 360 in october, u either have to cut the price if the sales was not that great for ps3 or face another very successful season for 360 that will not shorten the gap to catch 360, or leave it at it is and make the price cut in January if ps3 sales was good and LBP had a big effect!!

DHL should pay. Don't they have insurance for this kind of event? 21k xboxes spilled on DHL's watch is no excusable boo-boo.

BattleAxe3718d ago

I'm not sure whay MS would take legal action, they should have insurance.

Captain Tuttle3718d ago

A company their size is probably "self-insured" They put money aside to cover these things, just like a regular insurance company. I'm sure it's MS's self insurance arm doing the suing.
