Games that Deserve a Sequel

Jacob St-Amour from Link-Cable Writes: "Over the last few months on a few separate occasions, we spoke about potential Indie games we wish would get sequels in the future. While we love to spread the Indie love, there are other titles that deserve recognition and are even more deserving of a sequel and that is exactly what we will be discussing today as we list off the games we feel as though should be warranted a sequel in the not so distant future."

There maybe a few titles for some of these games already. But I still would love a sequel or more follow up sequels for Heavenly Sword, The Legend of Dragoon, Suikoden, Dino Crisis, Half Life, Parasite Eve. Wild Arms, Breath of Fire, Valkyrie Profile, Lunar, Earthbound, Vagrant Story, Chrono Cross/Trigger, Grandia, Jade Cocoon, Resistence, Shadow Hearts. Dark Cloud, Legend of Legaia, Omega Boost, Einhander, Nightmare Creatures, Tomba, SSX, Panzer Dragoon Saga, Folklore, .etc

I agree with most of those, Enslaved and Deadly Premonition are a couple games I would like sequels to

Hardiman2257d ago

I really enjoyed Enslaved Odyssey to the West! It was my GOTY that year. Deadly Premonition was a pleasant surprise as well!

thorstein2257d ago

Soul Blazer SNES needs a sequel/ update. I want Dragon Quest XI for the west. And Front Mission.

ahhh... great times to be a gamer.

Godmars2902257d ago

Didn't someone try something with SSX, and, it flopped? Was as soon forgotten.

TheSinsibleOne2257d ago

The Order 1886. Seriously that has LOADS of great potential to be a badass series, just tweek a couple of things.

Araragifeels 2257d ago

It needs a multiplayer for a sequel since it feel like Gears and it would be awesome having a multiplayer mode Human vs Animal shifter or horde mode.

_-EDMIX-_2257d ago

Seriously the Order 1886 is just this open concept it literally is like a sleeping giant that Sony Santa Monica could one day revisit and completely surprise the gaming world with a sequel that might as well be the first game.

I think the setting in the story clearly should be expanded upon but I believe they should make the game more open concept and have a legitimate skill tree and have it focus on real gameplay elements.

For all we know one day we could be talking about the order 1886 the same way we see Red Dead or Far Cry.

The sequels were such huge turnarounds many people don't even consider the series starts with them, in my personal opinion and many others Far Cry 2 is what really starts that series just like Red Dead Redemption.

I'm hoping one day the same thing happens to the order 1886.

Godmars2902257d ago (Edited 2257d ago )

Or...

Someone could take the mytic steampunck vs hidden monster races in Victorian England concept and make a lower keyed isometric game fashioned after say Daiblo and the *original* Fallout series.

_-EDMIX-_2257d ago

Lol trust me God Mars I wouldn't disagree with that but that sounds like an entirely new IP altogether.

Godmars2902257d ago (Edited 2257d ago )

Exactly.

At this point a small and talented group of devs could become the Asylum of gaming making - only, you know, in a good way. Take the base concept of a high profile title, slap on a new and reworked title, and...

...I just gave away a good idea, didn't I?

_-EDMIX-_2257d ago

@Godmars- lol I think it's an absolutely amazing idea as I enjoy RPGs like that.

But I guess that's a conversation for another day. For all we know a team like obsidian might do something like that considering their success with pillars of Eternity.

I just want Soul Sacrifice 2, Freedom Wars 2, Tokyo Jungle 2, Legend of Dragoon 2, God Hand 2 and Lost Odyssey to happen so I can finally rest in peace.

Blastoise2257d ago

+1 for Soul Sacrifice. There are dozens of us! Dozens!

Sixty Four review - ChristCenteredGamer

CCG writes - "If you enjoy games like Factorio, Sixty Four is worth checking out. The asking price of $5.99 is very reasonable. On the title screen you can import/export your Base64 encrypted save file. This is handy to know if you want to make any edits. Otherwise you can enjoy picking up where you left off with the Steam cloud support."
