A recently released study shows that a "rocket game" helped those suffering from schizophrenia. Researchers say that the videogame method may be a viable alternative to "ineffective" medication.
This is great. Glad to see gaming continue to evolve into an even more useful tool.
Instead of killing real people they are killing for pretend. Until it all backfires.....
Roses are red, violets are blue, I'm schizophrenic, and so am I.
That’s not schizophrenia - it’s dissociative identity disorder - common mistake. Schizophrenia is auditory and/or visual hallucinations.
Schizophrenia is a mental disorder characterized by: -abnormal social behavior -failure to understand reality -false beliefs -unclear or confused thinking -reduced social engagement and emotional expression Weird. So many people here seem to have all these symptoms yet gaming is supposed to help?
TheCommentator it can be any of those the biggest part of failure to understand reality is hallucinations. My ex was like that. I went to her psy and phy and they where saying it is COMMON to see food as worms...bugs...and see things.
hmm.... ok and what if the schizophreniac play Hellblade?
No control group and a small sample size. We really should wait for the literature to develop before we get excited.
