From immediate effect, the Destiny 2 forums have new post requirements that mean you need to own the game.
Congrats Bungie keep burning burning
Eh, seems like a reasonable restriction to me TBH. Though, think the title may be incorrect, I would assume it would only actually require that you have played the game, not necessarily own.
Lmfao @ the pettiness😂😂 28514;
While petty this does help cut down in trolls and crappy posts.Hell dice does it for Battlefield.
Those who own the game should not be silenced though. Negative review bombing is in itself has become a real problem and sites like Steam have taken action.
Keep digging Bungie.
I'm not exactly against this. This could prevent the forum from becoming a troll playground, like Metacritics is. But I think the damage done by Bounge to Destiny 2 is irreversible.
First correct thing done in a while
this is a case of The Trolls not liking being trolled themselves. Bungie is a joke, how about do the right thing, fix the game so people don't have a reason to troll so much.
Heh, well, ya know, it does help with all the incessant silly people who like to post negative crap while not even owning it which happens everywhere. So this is rather a good thing, not sure why people here see this as a negative...
i think its because general gaming and off topic (both have nothing to do with Destiny 2) are locked behind it as well.
I can't help but point out the irony in your post.
I own Destiny 2.........
"...incessant silly people who like to post negative crap while not even owning..." That's you... in every Xbox article you post in because you don't own one. Congrats on your Destiny 2 purchase, BTW.
Damage control..... They must not find truth about Microdestiny 1.5
While it looks bad that they are doing this all of a sudden, it kind of makes sense and they should have done it from the beginning.
It looks bad because it is. They removed off topic for no reason, essentially making the entire forum D2 only. And for what reason do they do this now instead of when D1 launched?
Guess I should have read the whole article. Restricting Destiny 2 access to only those who owned the game could make sense. But, blocking access to those other forums certainly doesn't.
Because three years of massive trolling will take a toll on anyone. Them ol halo kids... boy do they live in the salt. So sad.
there was actually a requirement to post on the D1 forums by reaching the tower
😂😂😂 29300; In order to comment on said article, you have to have an n4g account. A site that constantly hides away comments that THEY seem unfit... And then the comments in here about said topic... Too funny
Whats so bad about this? It should be a requirement for any game forum.
It's not destiny.net, it's bungie.net
Of which bungie is the owner. Can do whatever they want.
Hahaha looks like they've locked literally everything behind a paywall. Soon enough you will have to own DLC to comment and vanilla D2 owners will be locked out.
Who on earth would want to post in a topic specific for a game they do not own???
To let them know WHY you dont own or didnt buy their game.
So, people are gonna be all indignant about this, but honestly, this isn't a bad thing. Official forums should be a place for people who actually have and play the game to discuss the game and report issues and bugs and the like directly to the developers. If everyone else wants to talk about a game, there are hundreds of other gaming sites and comment sections all around the internet. Also, locking a forum to owners of a game only means that a company can't dismiss complaints with the age old "it's just trolls who don't even play" excuse. Whether they actually address the concerns is up in the air, like it always is, but at the very least they'll know everything they read is from people who spent money on their product and isn't just saying negative stuff because it's fun or cool.
I don't like bungee nor do I like Destiny 2 but I understand this move.
Bungle fumbles again
Its probably because people who doesnt play Destiny is bashing on it, Bungie and Activision.
I own the game, i got banned from the forum for trolling. My ban have been lifted but i can no longer Troll on the forums.
Good. Get rid of the trolls and people with no actual input
they're just digging a bigger hole for themselves
Keeps trolls away, better experience for actual owners of the game? I don't see anything wrong with it. The problem is the semi-stank whiff of arrogance that comes along such a decision is only exasperated by puzzling past our shiat don't stink statements and broken promises. I'm just grateful Warframe is so damn epic and fun and free for everyone.
They must have reversed the decision by now?
WTF.... LOL talk about killing your community.
Why didn't they do this in the first place?
