CAPCOM CEO and COO shared two messages. The first one focused on strengthening quality assurance control, the second one on the continued customer-driven product development and maintaining a close relationship with fans.
Too late for Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, but hopefully they make good.
The rest of their games have been doing nicely, at least!
Eh, this is the same people who put out Dead Rising 4 recently too. They are extremely hit or miss.
Which is ironic because they basically said the exact same statement after the less than expected sales of SFV, they'll allow more development time to ensure they release complete products...then Chun's face happened. To their credit they did fix it in time for release after months of backlash and memes but I find it worrying someone high up in the company saw that Chun model and gave it a thumbs up in the first place.
Monster Hunter World proved they can and seem to be really reaping the rewards with some great sales figures so far. Their fighting games though.. I'll believe it when I see it.
Yeah its kind of strange. It seems like they put a lot of effort to some franchises (Resident Evil 7 and Monster Hunter Wold) while letting others suffer. Street Fighter 5 is a great game, and always was, it just lacked content. I get that they were trying to get it out in time for the yearly fighting game tournaments, but it seems to me that they should have waited. It really ended up hurting them in the long run. And I don't even know what to say about MvC:I other than this is what happens when Marvel can't use their characters in their films. They pretty much shafted X-Men and F4 in all forms of media in an attempt to lower their popularity so people wouldn't go see Fox's crappy films. Its a shame though because the only people they ended up hurting with that strategy are their own loyal fans. I'm sorry, but you can't make an MvC game and NOT include X-Men characters. They are the characters that started that entire franchise with X-Men: Children of the Atom.
Maaaan they full of it. This should have been the case with the consumer PERIOD. Idiots.
Well, I've been cheerfully surprised at the quality of RE7 and Monster Hunter World so far... Well done Capcom, you've got a library of great IPs that were slipping a couple of years back. Do them and the fans justice.
Sounds good. But I'll stay cautiously optimistic for now.
Good with RE7 and MHW doing well I’m looking forward to future products.
