Taking stock of video game history

From the article: "Video game music represents its own wing of nostalgic revival. Veteran nostalgia miner Beck did an album of Gameboy remixes by reprogramming sounds from the vintage Nintendo games to replace the backing tracks of his 2005 album "Guero."

"Gameboy Music" even has its own Wikipedia entry that covers everything from the use of Nanoloop - a synthesizer interface for a Gameboy system that allows a musician to "play" the game music in real time - to a 2003 article by Malcolm McClaren (the Sex Pistols creator) in Wired Magazine declaring 8-bit music the next punk rock."
