LittleBigPlanet is certainly more than just a game. It is all about creativity and expression. A perfect example would be with this engagement proposal: Youtube user Jed05 has asked his girlfriend to marry him through a level he created in LBP.
don't allow this on N4G.
how is it too pathetic? LBP isnt just about imagination, its imagination with Expression, this is one example of what LBP can do.
Did you think that your post was constructive to the idea of this article? Pwnsause explained it best, IMO.
when your cajones finally drops and you are 20 years older try to come back and call this is pathetic. I doubt you would.
its not pathetic. whats ur sexual orientation? im not a fan of little big planet and i only have a 360. but its cool. im 25 and im married, so i can relate. get a girl friend and stop trolling on N4G.
Someone did this on viva pinata too.
Looks like something I would've done for my ex... Too bad it took me 5 years to realize she was a demon from hell, sent here to destroy every fiber of my being. But, in the beginning, when things where nice, I used to do things like this... I don't really miss it though. She makes it easy not to miss her. This is a good idea!
What, no little big planet love? this game is awesome, how can it not bring out the child in you. its so basic. just playing with lego. that's all... Some one did that piano scene from tom hanks movie big..jeez that brought back the memories...
It IS too pathetic, however(!!!) it's also the smartest and most creative way to get your girlfriend/soontobewife to never ever, EVER nag on you because you're playing too much video games again. EVEEEEEER.
it shows i will be inspiring a lot of people when i come out :)
its creative but it is pathetic
thats just sad, both of them are losers
on a serious note.. everybody is taking the best ways to ask her gf to marry him.. hmm.. owell i still got some time to think.. need to finish Personal Statement and enrol in uni first.. and for those who says its pathetic.. you need to love before you find this cool.. you gotta know that a woman wants an unforgettable way of being asked to marry to actually make her speechless, altho this isn't the best way, its still a pretty awesome way..
It's funny because I actually imagined that someone would do this at some point. And while I certainly think this wasn't as well done as it could have been... I find it incredible that a game could inspire such an idea.
edit: whoops, I'm stupid.
I think that this is the first time I've ever started laughing after seeing that I got an agree. Well done, anonymous donor.
i hope she said no! :P
beats asking her to marry him during a WoW raid :)
Or while banging a hooker in GTA4!
I laughed and choked on chicken from that
lmao +bubble crude, man. but funny.
Shes making her Level now... Shes thinks - 'How do i make the Letters 'N' & 'O'!!!' ;-D
He beat me to it. I was going to ask her.
Do xbots fall in love?
This game is really starting to pick up heat. You know that stuff like this has got to say something.
who says romance is dead...
it's not dead. that's very sweet of him.
sooooo cute :)
That giant sign reminds me of those notes you pass around in grade school. Do U Like Me? Yes. No. (circle one)
I'm just glad she picked yes. Imagine if she had to finish the level after clicking no...... And he video tapped it.
I bet if she would have said no, he would have made a level simulating him jumping into a fiery pit, or off a tall cliff or something. I wonder if you can animate a giant heart breaking into pieces in this game?
It's very clever. Also means he has secured game playing rights for the rest of his life with her - she will always remember games consoles fondly ... might try it myself actually ;)
dude publish it. but make it more man friendly...I would definitely play it. choose yes for heaven and no for hell. You'd just have to play it twice then don't you.
Kind of thing geeks would do lol. But it was great video
awww Next week xbox member from halo ask pink Spartan to marry him when he shoots bullets into a wall making it like a love heart
a halo player proposed by using forge MONTHS ago... http://www.xbox.com/en-US/c... so basically, a sony player copied a halo guy this time. nice try though.
It lets people explore their creative side in more ways than just the obvious *run through level, get to end*. You can convey emotional concepts and ideas, or you can take an existing idea and mold them in your own vision (aka Mario or God of War). Little Big Planet is more than just a "simple platformer", it's a veritable sandbox of innovation and creative freedom. It lets people basically create everything they can think of, and then actually play out those imaginative ideas in real time. It is in that respect that LBP deserves all the praise it can get. You can give this game as cursory a look as you want, but by doing so, and not exploring it deeper, you are just cheating yourself out of one of the most unique gaming experiences of this, and quite possibly any other generation to date. You might not have to like the game, but at least give credit where credit is due, and appreciate the work Media Molecule has given gamers with this title. Anyone who doesn't at least recognize the artistic merit of this game deserves to have their gamer status revoked.
Dude your making it sound like its the second coming of Christ. It IS just a platformer. Every video uploaded so far has pretty much the same gameplay. The best levels I seen so far resemble some of the puzzles in old Sonic games. Been there done that. I can see people getting bored with this game pretty quickly.
actually the best level i've seen is the one you play inside the Xbox http://uk.youtube.com/watch... really awsome and challenging level
Run, shoot, throw grenade, repeat. What do you think keeps people coming back to the game if the gameplay is so simple? You are really looking at this through a narrow perspective. You don't have to create levels that are *just* jumping. Hell, I saw a few levels that were basically one giant rollercoaster. That's just one example, but you really can't deny the expansive nature of this. Yes, It's a platformer in its core game mechanic, but it's the most dynamic platforming engine ever made. I highly doubt this game will have a short life.
Just let First Knight play with his pinata's.
That was a decent level for LBP. I am starting to think the LBP = little big problem for Firstnight and the rest of the haters. The game is extremely innovative and unlike LBP you are running out of ideas / reasons to find fault with this little big title for the PS3. Give credit where it's due. This title is a game / generation defining moment.
FistKnight (no R) thinks a hyped playstation exclusive will quickly get boring, I'm shocked!
this game will be the legend of all games people will always remaber this game from so many diffrent viwes and experience from it. LBP all the way :)
Daz - ur a geek sitting here mate where all geeeks LBP is unlocking dreams I wondered what happened if he said no lol
I'm not sure but I think you actually hear the female's expression when she sees "will you marry me." But she keeps on playing. Damn drop the controller and give him a hug or something.
perhaps they have been living together for so long....that marriage will not be that big of a transition........so does not have that big of an impact for her. I have worked with some people who have been together for so long...where marriage seems like a right, and not necessary a privilege/honor to celebrate
Aw,isn't that cute....
in response to thekingMA Your simply an idiot.
i hope it's real but i can't help but feel that it might be fake :P only because i was discussing the possibility of this happening with some people on a forum... the timing is too perfect lol. and did you hear the *gasp* lol? why would she wait to for him to complete the level before crying saying something else? come on XD
Platformers are from the 80's When thats all the consoles could due to the technology of that period mmmmm I wonder hehe This game is not original
Then if i may ask why the hell are you here?
that is just too awesome!!!
That's just too corny.
And she was so excited about the proposal that she continued to play the game instead of calling him. Either this is fake or this relationship won't last. If it was real, she loves games way more than she loves him.
you make a good point.
To be honest....I thought the proposal was lame, and lacked creativity. In essence he wrote will you marry me; in my opinion no different than doing it on notebook paper. If this was just his preferred method, he should have asked the question at the end of the level...sort of like a montage of our lives together...which leads to the goal of "will you marry me"...and then perhaps a peek at the joys of the future. Then from there, I wonder why the video got posted. Was it really about her....or about garnering recognition from his community? If somebody else posted it, it would come off as a little different...things are not perceived the same when you blow your own trumpet. I wonder years from now, after everybody is doing all these awesome level designs....if his wife will say, you remember when you proposed to me on that game? Now if he created a game...that would have stood out. Anyhow, this is my thoughts and opinion.....and perhaps this route worked for them....but for me I do not feel that it would have been enough to express my desire for my wife.
creative? yes. lame? definitely.
Where's Phil Rizzuto to announce Beth McGee's 95th birthday next?
