Can Bungie Win Back Destiny 2 Players?

Bungie keeps bungling Destiny 2. With all these issues, can players ever learn to trust the developer again?

Bungie has most of the control over this game. The issue isn't Activision. Bungie deserves most of the blame.

while i agree they picked activision and own the IP you have to read their contract or part of the leaked one

if bungie doesn't deliver content and sequels on time activision gets to buy the Ip/bungie. Coming from MS and saying you are tired of doing halo than to go with activison by signing a contract like that i don't get it

no wonder why D1 and D2 both launched unfinished and in case of D2 bungie overall became very greedy

Bungie deserves the blame but Activision knows full well they can’t hanlde the amount of work needed to create content for this game with the difficult to use game engine that they utilize. They’re doing what EA did with titanfall and Respawn. They’ll either buy Bungie as a studio before Bungie implodes or just end their contract all together with Bungie and no more Destiny franchise. Activision already made back its money it invested for a ten year series with the first game so at this point it’s just profits for them so they may not even care to save the destiny franchise if they know it’ll require even more investment. That Wall Street report already has investors very concerned.

that's exactly it. They will say the right thing and have been since day 1 of D1.

Prior to the taken king they were talking about massive this update. All they did was reskin every weapon and armor piece and added very little. It wasn't this massive update they'd been boasting about... It's been the same song and dance though since D1. Toot our horn, say we're doing this, say this is going to be big, etc. And it didn't help that they completely stripped what ended up making D1 so good from D2 and leaving us with a shell of a game, another vanilla game, again, little end game content, etc...

I think they can win back some gamers but it's going to take A LOT. And more than simply saying this or that or showing cool new footage. They need to deliver fixes and perhaps just as important, bring some sizable content. Even then people will need to actually see it's worth buying.

There are many Destiny fans waiting to have the game they hoped Destiny 2 would be. The problem is the game Bungie wants Destiny 2 to be is completely different to the game the fans want.

Destiny 2 is exactly the game Bungie wanted it to be. They made a millions off of profit. Most people bought the DLC with it. Sold special systems and pre order bs. Charged up the ass with garbage micro transactions and everything. They really have no reason to actually fix the game.

The division is an example.
It has improved and destiny will need the same thing... time... and the division was in a worse state then destiny will ever be in.
It is not a counter to your point, because you are right, but the core of the game is not the issue, content and gameplay decisions are. All of which can be added and fixed. It just takes time.
Yes, they game should have been more, but it is what it is and the fan base still wants it to be better which means a lot of them will return once it has changed.

yeah give us the second DLC coming out in March for free then I'll come back but we already know it's going to be just a shit as the first one with Mercury so my faith is totally lost I have almost 70 guys in my clan and not one of them are Ever playing Destiny 2 anymore

Just announce Destiny 3 since everyone seemed to forget to learn their lesson from the first game when they announced the sequel and gave us lots of cool, well put together trailers and PR talk.

I honestly think they botched multiplayer. I was expecting it to be bigger, the fact that bungie was literally part of one of the best multiplayer franchises halo and not take some pointers is beyond me. I would of loved a mode with a big map and actually give use to our vechiles, blood gulche type map.

This game had so much potential. The universe they created, the alien races....everything was there for this to be THE shooter with awesome lore. But no, greedy got the last word and it destroyed what could have been great. No wonder greed is a sin. Bungie, Acrivision, EA has proved it very well last year.

Tired of this now, so much love lost for Bungie and grief for my beloved game. But I'll say this.. This iteration of Destiny the Game is dead. It was dead when they realised they were going to bodge a new game into 16 months. They then spend the next year fixing it back to what we already had but worse. Worse because they have confused new guardians to the game and completely alienated the core base who put love, money, time and fun into what was an abysmal launch game but grew with care and attention.
Still very peed off I haven't played this game in over 100 days but it just kinda died very suddenly.
