Blizzard is the best at online gaming. Overwatch is a product of its maker, which has become the model on how to build a fun and reliable multiplayer game. Overwatch is the new gold standard of video games. Period.

Dynaste Vs Dallas fuel was actually fun to watch. After that it’s been pretty much meh with barely any variation in rosters. It is the same dive comp over and over ans Junkertown’s pirate ship comp as well

I agree. I love the game, but I feel like the author isn't really speaking about the gameplay. I saw it as the fact that updates continue to balance characters out, Blizzard giving out all content for free, and in conjunction with other aspects it makes it a "gold standard."

Well said. I can agree its a great MP game but to say its gold standard is bullcrap. So MP only games are the gold standard now?? Wow Nintendo should just stop making Zelda, mario, pokemon and Metroid and just make Always online MP shooters with goombas and mushrooms and Sony Should Make God of war, spiderman, detroit and days gone Online only MP shooter.

It's a fun game, it's always great to see a new team based shooter, but it's not a damn paradigm shift in gaming. I pass on watching it :D I like playing it (PC), but now I don't even care about SR anymore, I only play comp for comp. points. I could care less if my SR was 4000 or 0, TBH. If I can have all my chars have Golden Guns I'm good and just play comp for the 10 placement matches only for the end of season rewards, and just enjoy QP. So if we lose it doesn't matter to me really.

I dunno mate. I was totally and utterly addicted to it for 6 months and then one day I sat down to play as usual and after a single match I thought 'that was boring as hell' and haven't played since. Overwatch is a virus, once the infection period is over, you're free and clear to play other games.

I must agree, the constant content updates, seasonal events, seasons, and easy to gain cosmetic only loot boxes are great. The fact that it requires teamwork is my favourite thing about it. So many MP games have tried to encourage team play but they just end up being individuals ignoring objectives and working on their k/d. In Overwatch, as the author says "If your team is strong, you are strong". Sometimes it sucks when your team isn't but most of the matches are fun.
