Bandai Namco has shared more details about Dark Souls Remastered confirming the technical details for this new remaster.
Nice and 60fps for all but switch is great. Sad pro and x wont be native 4k. I hope for hdr
1080p/30fps for Switch is still a good end result. I will definitely look to play it there provided the framerate in handheld mode is locked @ 30 too.
I wouldn't mind if there was an option for 900p/60 or something like that on switch in docked mode sorta like how Fire Emblem Warriors did with its Performance/Quality settings.
Handheld is [email protected]
Good news. I hope they've added some extras here and there.
In 2018 a remaster only hitting 30fps at 1080 is good news?
@slavish0 - considering the original was 720p at sub 30fps.. it's fine with me.
I hope we get pro/x patch for their other games
Dark Souls 2 remaster on PS4 already got a PRO patch that came close to it's release.
... And Dark Souls 3 got PRO patch with patch 1.11 😉
Dark souls 2 did not get a Pro patch, it's just one of the games that responds well to boost mode being enabled.
Will be a great game to play on the go. Still my favorite game in the series.
Agreed. I will try not to throw it to the wall on a fit of rage when playing(dying) on portable mode lol.
So..basically no patched x and pro support considering both consoles upscale any sub 4k content to 4k anyway...
By upscaled 4k, I’m almost certain anyone could safely assume they mean the game runs at a higher than 1080p resolution that then gets upscaled to 4K. They do not mean it’s just the base console resolution upscaled to 4K which as you said, not systems already do automatically.
Sounds like it's going to be a great port. I had a feeling there was going to be a DS remastered with the DS3/BB engine which is much needed. The first game, although beautiful, is starting to show age.
It's the Dark Souls of Remasters.
I see what you did there... and I like it!
I can't wait to play this on PS4 Pro. I was so hoping they would do a remaster for this game. I've platinumed Dark Souls II, III and Bloodborne on PS4, so it'd be nice to complete the set (minus Demon's Souls).
Playing Dark Souls in 60fps is amazing. Hopefully blight town will stay at 60fps on the consoles...
dat power of dat beast!!!!!!!!!!!!
There's the updated graphics talk I expected for these versions. Now, what about content? The Switch version might have something like Ganondorf's Great Sword or Phantom Ganon's Armor tucked away for Dark Souls players to find, or maybe something from another franchise like Fatal Frame as an easter egg or two. [more likely that there won't be anything of the sort, but one can hope] Maybe even a weapon or reference from Eternal Darkness. People seem to forget that Nintendo did have some horror games over the years.XD So what new content could the remasters for PS4 and XB1 potentially get? If we include third party titles then I guess they've got a lot to draw from, but what about in-house horror games with items or references that would fit into Dark Souls? Please note that I'm hoping for a fun and interesting discussion here. Keep the negative posts to yourselves if that's the first thought that jumps to mind when seeing my post here. I'm looking at you, disagree-stalkers.
The return of Giant Dad. Let's go.
Another upscaled game for the beast box X?? Where's the true 4k 60fps uncompromised??
What are you on about?
Hopefully they fix the way the servers work, that was the only only bad thing about dark souls.
