Nintendo has silently shared a new Nintendo direct announcing a whole bunch of games and updates for the Nintendo Switch.
Oh Namco Bandai....you have betrayed us... where's DS remastered on ps4/xb1?? On a more serious note, I'm sure a ps4/xb1 edition is surely in the works. All that remains is the daddy of them all. Demon Souls...
it is a multiplatform remaster actually. ps4, xb1 and pc versions use the DS3 engine, textures and effects while the switch is just a 1080p port of the original as far as i understood it.
as far as you understood it, ie guessing? Or you have a source to back that up? Why would Namco Bandai make two different versions of a remaster. Sounds like far too much work for them.
It was a nice mini direct. Several I wasnt expecting and a few that seemed like obviouas choices due to previous wiiu to switch conversions.
The mini made no mention of that; can you link us to the source for your statement? I mean, not that it would matter since it coming to Switch is awesome regardless, but it's nice to have all the clear details from an official source.
Based on their tweet, DS Remastered is coming to the Switch, pS4, Xbox One, and PC: https://mobile.twitter.com/...
Switch at 30fps I might add and ps4 x1 at 60fps with upscaled 4k on pro :) Boy some posters below really try too hard And be salty asf. Their narratives are so transparent, always the same ones lol Anyway double dipping on ps4 and switch :)
It really doesn't matter if the switch version runs at 30 or 60, some if the best games ever made run at 30 or just below it, Including Bloodborne, GTAV, Dark Souls 3 on consoles, Red Dead Redemption, Uncharted Series and The Last of Us.
Hype level for the Nintendo switch........ Zero.
you understood it wrong....
Here you go... https://twitter.com/PlaySta... DS Remastered PS4
I guess Sony couldn't let Nintendo have all the thunder :P
Now we just need a Demon's Souls remaster on PS4 and we'll have the whole souls/borne franchise on a single platform.
Damn great news...I'm getting it. Lets hope they will allow us to import our old ps3/360 save files!
Yeah Princess Peach would be a perfect fit for Dark Souls.... Although, placing evil Pokemons around the world could work... Nah who am I kidding its Dark souls...
I think that since it was announced in a Nintendo Switch trailer that we will be seeing some type of Nintendo exclusive content. Maybe a Master Sword and Hylian Shield? Kind of like Skyrim. Also being an avid fan of the Original Dark Souls and all of the others (Dark Souls is the best) it looks like that is a new area bonfire. It doesn't look like any bonfire already in the game. Also the area looks like the place where the Everlasting Dragon is. I really hope a new area is in store for us. From Software gives it's fans a lot. And I wouldn't put it past them giving us a new area and some bosses along with new items. It would be amazing. Also Dark Souls is for the first time portable. Pretty badass. I am excited to play because I will be able to help lots of noobs for their first time!
Right here http://n4g.com/news/2135904...
Wrong game, my bad ;(
Pretty sure Demon Souls was published by Sony much like Bloodborne so any other platform release besides PS4 is unlikely.
Sony published it in Japan. Atlus has distribution rights for the rest of the world. This is why a DemonS remaster has been delayed so much.
Appearntly it's a remaster built on Dark Souls 3 engine or something that's coming to other platforms too, hopefully the framerate issues from all versions of the game will be gone, specifically Blighttown.
Switch version is not build around ds3 engine and switch version is being done by different studio
Where did u get that information from, your arse perhaps?
Nintendo faggs at it again lol "Kotaku report, a different studio is apparently focusing on PS4, Xbox One and, yes, PC versions of the Dark Souls remaster. New graphics and lighting, natch, Build around D3 Engine plus online upgrades to bring it to a similar player count as later games in the series" plus it's 30fps on switch , other platforms 60 another article "A few hours later it will be announced that Dark Souls Remastered is also coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC. These ports are being handled by a separate company from the Switch port, and will feature rebuilt lighting and SFX based on Dark Souls 3, as well as upscaled textures. One change we've been made aware of is that multiplayer will be expanded to support six concurrent players, which makes sense if the goal is to get Dark Souls' covenant system working a little more smoothly." http://www.kotaku.co.uk/201... Have anything to say now ?
Well skyrim on Switch is closer to the remaster that it is the original so I expect this to be no different. The main give away is the big !##&ing word REMASTERED in the direct. PC version - Best graphics Switch version - portable XB1 version - nothing special PS4 version- nothing special that's the way I see it :)
EddieNX Whatever helps you sleep at night bud, i just proved to you that DS is being remastered using all the bells and whistles on other platforms I will still get this for my switch , but i'm being realistic instead of being stupid mindless fanboy and i do my research before i open my mouth
Calling people Nintendo faggs but yet your monkey ass is here checking out whats going on with Nintendo so that would make you a Nintendo fagg on a scale from 1-10 you get a 10 for making yourself look like an asshole. And if I get flagged by admin for calling you an asshole they better flag you as well because you called people Nintendo faggs.
Tazzy You moron learn to read properly , im here because i actually own 2 switches and i am a gamer not a brainless Nintendo fanboy who restrict itself to just Nintendo and will bash everything else I still am getting DS for switch but cry all you like it's still not made in DS3 engine like ps4,xbox and pc version
The old Dark Souls engine runs worse than the the Dark Souls 3 one, there is no way they'd use it over DS3's lol.
Wow.. Nintendo drops a stealth bomb. Definitely excited to try some of these games.
This has made my year and we're only 11 days in!!!!! Dark souls on Switch? Yes, thanks and good night...
Start working at home with Google! It’s by-far the best job I’ve had. Last Friday I got a brand new BMW since getting a check for $6474 this - 5 weeks past. I began this 6-months ago and immediately was bringing home at least $85 per hour.. Go this web and start your work.. Good luck.... http://www.fl-y.com/3qx0
WOW this was such a disappointment! i expected so much more with all the teases from nintendo.
hence the term "mini". You expect them to layout all of 2018 for you?
i expected more as it was teased to hell by insiders at least. no metroid, pokemon, bayonetta or wolf makes this disappointing. the only good reveals out of this are DS (multiplatform) and mario tennis (which is still a tennis game)
I mean to be fair, laying out 2018 in the same way they laid out 2017's major releases would have been a smart idea. Of course they can still do that anytime over the next couple months.
yep, I mean we are 11 days into 2018. Still tons of time to announce more.
What teases? They posted a picture on twitter last night and everything else was pretty much rumors.
Ziv, you're expecting E3 announcements before E3 even starts. Of COURSE you're disappointed, with expectations as unrealistic as those.
This Direct aims only for the games that are releasing during the first half of 2018. Its not like 2018 ends after June or anything. Plus, it is a “mini” Direct. Expect something more meaty in the coming weeks or months.
Right. Not convinced thst this lot will maintain much momentum. Mario Tennis? Already??
@knushwood - actually I have always been fond of the Mario Tennis and Golf games. But that's just my personal opinion. To each their own though. No this list didn't set the world on fire. But Hyrule Warriors and Donkey Kong getting Switch versions is awesome. Dark Souls Remastered is still great to see on the Switch, just because it's not exclusive doesn't mean that it's still not good news for Switch owners.
And I had Mario Tennis on the GC. I'm just surprised they are milking these old, average titles at this stage.
They've actually always followed up a mini direct with a full direct within 3 weeks or so. I'm fairly satisfied with what they showed, but I can see them bringing another one to focus on bigger games such as Wolfenstein 2, Bayonetta, Fire Emblem, Octopath, No More Heroes, Shin Megami Tensei, etc . . .
You only have yourself to blame.
You set yourself up for disappointment. Nintendo never even officially said there was going to be a direct in January.
"no metroid, pokemon, bayonetta or wolf" You really expected those heavy hitters in January?
you played yourself, which is exactly what Nintendo wants. they wanted you to hype this up. the fact of the matter is Pokemon,Metroid, Bayonetta are e3 material and people should have know better.
I have been praying for a Dark Souls 1 remaster on the Switch since Fromsoftware said they were testing the engine on the hardware. The Direct exceeded my expectations.
That was an excellent Direct. More great games coming for the system. Notice they called it a Mini: is that an indication that there is possibly another one this month? They still did not mention online plans.
Well, yeah. I mean, that's the kind of stuff you'd wait for E3 to announce, ya know? Right alongside stuff like MP4.
Based on their past Directs, they usually have more than one in January. I would expect another Direct focusing on the 3DS, mobile, and the Switch this month.
That Mario Tennis game looks pretty nice, should be better than the Wii U installment.
Yeah the story mode looks legit like omg that was my favorite part of the Direct.
Yeah, the Wii U one was terrible with barely any content. This already looks to have more content and far more character and inspiration than any Mario sports game in recent memory. The gameplay was good in the Wii U one so if they take that and refine it and add some real content to it, along with online play, it'd be a success.
Wow, this is gonna be good. So glad Nintendo is hitting their stride.
What made me happiest out of all of this, was Dark Souls Remastered, Ys 8, and Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition. Having all of the content from both versions of HW is going to breath new life into the game for me. I'll gladly go right back into grinding on it. TWEWY coming to Switch was also a big smile moment for me; sooooo much to love, and this was just a mini! Spring and Summer can't come soon enough. And I thought I already had a lot to do with Xenoblade 2 and Skyrim! And that new competitive mode looks like it'll also give us a lot of new fun in Mario Odyssey, too. Damn it, my poor wallet...T_T PS: Did anyone get a laugh out of SNK Heroines? I don't know why it made me laugh, but it did. It looks unexpectedly fun, though!
Frenemies. Whoever came up with that deserves to be cut in half by younglings.
I think Nintendo will have more games then this on 2018.
Yeah as this only takes us up to summer I.e E3
Not bad overall.
TWEWY I cannot wait. DS remaster on the switch I never saw coming. Nintendo doing great so far.
Ys 8 for the switch and more pokken characters YEEEEEEES!
And Mario tennis!
Disappointed that Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is only get released by itself, as I was really hoping Donkey Kong Country Returns was going to be packaged with it (with a resolution bump to 1080p). Though I'm still happy that I'll be able to play Tropical Freeze again as I loved that game. Nintendo I still need a new DK Country game, so make that happen.
Same here. I wonder how much they will charge for it? It originally launched for $50 and it's been a $20 Nintendo selects title for a while. Mario Kart was $40 on Wii U when the Switch version launched and the Switch version had an entire battle mode added, a new character and kart, and included the $16 DLC. $60 was pretty dang reasonable. Pokken was only a year old when it launched on Switch. It still retailed for $60 on Wii U and the Switch version included 5 more characters and ranked online play. Again, $60 was pretty reasonable. Hyrule Warriors includes all the content from 3DS and all $30 of DLC that came out for the game. It's basically a "complete" edition and $60 would be pretty reasonable. Anything more than $40 for Donkey Kong would be ridiculous and honestly I'm hoping for $30. The Wii U version has been $20 for years and there's really not that much content added.
This was pretty jam packed for a direct mini. As someone who never picked up a wii u, i'm super excited!
