Marvel's Spider-Man Design Director Brian Horton has been playing the game a lot, three times to be precise, and plathroughs appear to be sizable.
This is going to be great...I love that the developers are completing playthroughs of the game & it seems like a decently long game. I guess the fake rumors about this game being super short can be put to rest
I wonder who started those rumours???, anyway best to ignore them, if this game is as good as Sunset and Ratchet then my God, what a coup for Sony and Playstation securing the rights to make these games exclusive.
The hate articles make money, sadly. Expect plenty more and ignore them.
There was really rumors saying it was short I would love to read those lol
How do you know they are fake? I could say It took me a hundred days to beat a game without indicating that for each day I only played 2 minutes.
@shloobmm3 - "How do you know they are fake? I could say It took me a hundred days to beat a game without indicating that for each day I only played 2 minutes." How do I know they're fake...Well if he was only playing a couple minutes each night then he wouldn't say that he had a "long night ahead of me" when he referenced his multiple play-throughs... Nice try though
That’s a whole lot of QTE!
Too many things are passed off as rumors nowadays, when they are really nothing more than just random people saying stupid things to cause some kind of console war nonsense.
That's a whole lotta hate and envy
Put to rest? He said multiple days..Assume for one he's not staying up for 48 hours. The game should rule, but it's looking like twelve-eighteen hours or something. And ok what about more than two? If he's playing ~6 hours a day (which would be a lot and unlikely for someone in his position), that could still only be ~24 hours. Point is anyone who was hoping for a huge open-world Witcher type worth like 50 hours is going to be disappointed.
@GaboonViper Wondering if Sony managed to get any other Marvel IPs for exclusive games.
I'm just hoping it isn't "multiple days of QTEs". My only fear with this game...
How many hours per day did he spend playing the game? Busy people actually don't have a lot of time like people without jobs or people that just plan on focusing heavily on this game. I am not taking away anything from this guy, but that sentence along gives us no information. It just plays on the assumptions that people make about this sort of statement.
@cleft5 - "How many hours per day did he spend playing the game? Busy people actually don't have a lot of time like people without jobs or people that just plan on focusing heavily on this game." I see where your coming from but the guy who I'm quoting is a developer for Insomniac...meaning Spider-Man PS4 is his day job
I'm predicting 8 to 12 hours.
Probably the rumors came about from their rachet and clank remake. Which was super short and cut a lot of content from the original. Has 0 bearing on this though
This, GoW, Days Gone, Detroit, NNK2, DQXI, RDR2, SOTC what a year.
Wallet is really going to hurt in 2018! :) can’t wait!
What If be only played for 1 hour a day.
Then you would be happy 😁
@Skull521 They are optional. If you failed, it isn’t going to be game over. The animation will change. They did said the QTE won’t be too much.
This game is gonna be amazing!!!
so close to a release date. I give it a summer release date. Maybe June??
Late April -May seems more possible. GOW might be late February or late March.
Detroit: Become Human is scheduled for Spring though, Spider-Man in June seems more likely.
Detroit for Spring? I can see that, but I thought it would have came around August and Days Gone Sep-Oct and finally Shenmue 3 in Nov-Dec
Don't forget Dreams, might be an August game.
Big PS4 exclusives like HZD, Persona 5 usually release in spring. So Spdey and Kratos games are coming early.
I'd say it'll probably be close to when the next Avengers movie releases. IIRC, that's around May
This is my most anticipated game of 2018
Definitely high on my list. Detroit and RDR2 well in the running for top spot though.
25 million views on YouTube says you are spot on.
How the hell did I get a disagree?! Lol troll harder.....or is it NOT my most anticipated game? Didn't know you knew me better than I do.
Folks are hating because you're telling the truth about a game you want to play.Just know there are some hating fools on this site.
Because your most anticipated game isn't crackdown or sea of thieves lol.
Because its what haters do on n4g...or any open forum.
march release then..
Nah. They’re not going to release it around the same time as God of War or Detroit. I’m thinking May.
I think maybe even closer to the holiday for polish but also not to interfere with God of War's sales. I love how Sony's own games are competing with each other. I win not matter what because I own a PS4 Pro
"multiple days" seems vague. How many hourse a day ...3 or 4 ?
Wow. You sound like you really want this game to be short. Why? So you can trash it?
Not at all. It just seemed a vague answer. 9-12 hours for a great single player is fine. I play games of many lengths. All i'm saying is that i suspect it won't be long.
@cfc Yeah, but you’re not exactly giving decent expections when say 3 or 4. I agree 9 - 12 is fine, but when it’s a linear game that offers other components like MP. 9 - 12 is awful for an open world story driven game that doesn’t offer multiplayer. Anyone who suggests that typically has the intent of starting negative rumors to bash the game. Just saying.
If 9-12 hours is awful for a game with no MP, how about infamous SS ?
@cfc I don’t know which version of that game you played, but it was a lot more than 12 hours. I guess if you literally rushed through it, 12 is possible, but that’s an unfair metric when you consider most games can beaten within a span of 2-3 hours with a speed run.
Huh? It's a legit question. Nothing about his comment is bashing the game. Perhaps he should post a brain dead fanboy comment like everyone above saying how excited they are for the game and make no comment on the article itself.
Read my last reply. He didn’t simply ask how long; he used low numbers, which in most cases would be someone trying to create low expectations. He might not have been stealth trolling, but that’s a usual stealth troll thing.
Developers stay in office 8 to 10 hours so how about 8 hours per?
He asked a fair question. I don't get why everyone is jumping on him. The dev could have played 3 or 4 hours a day. Or maybe they played 5 or 6. Maybe they played 8 or 9 or even more. We have no idea. I think the game will be a pretty decent length, but these dev comments don't really mean much without any context.
a design director is probably going to spend 3-4 hours in meetings on any given day. I'd imagine that not all his time was spent in the office playing the game though. It's a fair question, but the implication he made was that a lot of time was spent playing each time. Just some people want to try and act like he spent hardly any time playing each day, probably in a vain attempt to have a reason to down play the game. For the most part, Sony's SP games aren't particularly short in comparison to other SP games.
I'd say that since he was probably doing it for the purposes of development testing, that it'd take up a good portion of his working day. The general amount of time available to someone in his position may have to actually do something like that in a working day would be 4-6 hours, depending on what he was playing it for, and between meetings and what nots. It's a SP game from Sony. For the most part, their SP games last around 12-20 hours without doing all the extra stuff. The Order was probably their shortest game this gen, and short games from them aren't overly common.
Just ignore them. Just the usual downplaying lol.
I have to admit, as an xbox user im very jealous of this game lol. Cant remember the last time i played a good Spider-Man game, but i know Insomniac will do a superb job with the IP.
Maybe you can play it at a friend's place? Or just take the plunge and grab a PS4. This year looks to have a stunning line up of games.
PS4's are pretty cheap nowadays, and plenty of back log to make it worth it. No one would judge you if you decided to buy into the console.:) Believe it or not, PS owners are quite welcoming of newcomers.
Buy a PS4! With so many backlog of diverse interesting titles & this year looks just as exciting as the last.
Go on be a devil. You won't regret it.
If this game, Detroit, God of war, and days gone all come out this year it's gonna be ps4's best year yet
I used to be excited about this game, but now I really can't play "flat" screen games anymore. Ever since I got PSVR I have been unable to bring myself to play any non VR games. It's like going from a board game to video games, or radio to tv. It is that compelling. So far everyone that I have talked to online in VR, have said the same. All of the new releases for PS4, that are not VR have completely fallen off my radar.
Interesting comment. Although i have to say i like tv and radio.
If you care that much about VR why would you limit yourself to just the PSVR?
well, I don't have a gaming pc, as I am a console only gamer. Sooo, PSVR it is
PSVR isn't that much worse than rift or vive and is the best designed of the 3 with the best library and best price. He's not limited.
Weird, everyone I've talked to that has used VR seems to not have a problem moving from one to another.
Most gamers prefer gaming on a hd tv,only somewhat over a million folks bought PSVR out of 70+ million PS4 owners .As of now PSVR is a niche product.
Does that make scorpio niche too then lol.
