IGN UK: Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 Review

For all its problems off the pitch, there's no doubting that PES 2009 is the most fun football game on the market. There's a nagging feeling that this is merely the game that the past iterations should have been, but there's no denying that it plays as good a game as ever – which means for the neutral, the choice of which game to pledge their allegiance to is as hard as ever. Ultimately, FIFA wins out thanks to it offering the most comprehensive package, but those who choose to spend the next season in the company of PES won't be disappointed.

"There's a nagging feeling that this is merely the game that the past iterations should have been" -IGN

Then why you gave PES 2008 a 9.2 score??? WTF!! Oh right, because it had in-game advertisement for

... and then forget to mention the essential, awesome AI, most realistic ball physics ever, weather and light effects, features only PES have for player skills, etc...

and they write only about stuff nobody cares when play a game giving bad rates to sound, presentation and even gameplay got only 9 when it's funtastic than before, this article and score is "manufactured".

Yeah you are right. I smell bullsh*t here. I remember IGN definitely giving PES 2008 a 9 score, so whats up with them giving PES 2009 an 8.5? They have clearly stated in this review that PES 2009 is a lot better than PES 2008, so how does that score make sense? I think IGN are just jumping on the whole so-called FIFA revolution bandwagon and suckin EA's ballz.

I'll never like FIFA, no matter how many improvements they make. They still never seem to get the gameplay right, Pro Evo just has this gameplay that cannot be emulated. As long as the 2009 edition is better than the 2008 edition (which is the case) then it's PES all the way for me.
