Review: Yakuza 0 - PS4 | Pure PlayStation

Pure PlayStation: I had heard of the Yakuza games, but I had never played any of them. Somehow, I missed them on the PS2 and PS3, and it’s hard to jump into a franchise at the fifth or sixth entry. Until my fellow writer Hannah mentioned having fun with this one, I thought my ship had sailed. I’m really happy I gave it a try, because it is one of my favourite games of the year.

The gameplay was a bit outdated however the story could rival any gangster flick. It was good enough for me to pick up Kiwami which I have yet to start.

Same here. I snagged the steel book, but have yet to start it.
Majima’s story will go down with the great gaming storylines for me. It got me so many times, and I really hope they keep pumping out the other older titles so I can play the story properly. Because there’s no way I’m jumping from Yakuza Kiwami(1) to Yakuza 6.

I had a blast with 0 and Kiwami, can't wait for Kiwami 2 to hit the west. (and 6)

I have been watching Salty Yen play Kiwami 2 and do his looks amazing...I will probably import it when the price gauging on Amazon goes down and Yen finishes his walkthrough.

Six is a mixed bag, the engine is better and the game looks more flashy and I really enjoyed the Hiroshima portions but the story in terms of the Yakuza series is lacking

PS. If you liked 0 and Kiwami, you should consider Ishin...Its probably never going to get localized for the West but there are guides and Salty yen has youtube videos out there....its fantastic
