The wait was worth it for Yooka-Laylee on Switch

After months of anticipation, Yooka-Laylee has finally arrived on Switch and it feels right at home. Playtonic's debut is a sprawling platformer with a focus on exploration and the jump to modern hardware has enabled its designers to create worlds much larger and more complex than the games which inspired it.

Great to hear. Glad they took time and did a proper port. This was also the in house team that ported the game.

Yeah, I got to world 3 and stopped playing it. It was just a letdown for me as I found the worlds too big and empty. I was constantly getting lost (not in a good immersive way either) due to lack of landmarks which is critical for a 3D platformer.

Only if you hyped it with expectations that couldn't be met. Banjo-Kazooie is in my top 5 favorite games of all time but even I knew this wasn't going to be as great as that. I did expect a fantastic and fun indie game and that's exactly what we got.

I understand what your saying but I just feel like the worlds and quest design was uninspired outside of a few great ones.

I'll be downloading this as soon as I get through my backlog. They did a proper job unlike Rime....
