ThisGenGaming says "In this article, we go over what we feel are going to be must buy Xbox One console exclusive games that release in 2018."
Come on son, you can do better than that Microsoft
and those are what we know about.
Nope, pretty sure that's pretty much it, minus the yearly serving of Forza.
Pretty unimpressive lineup....
"5 Xbox One Console Exclusives That You Must Buy In 2018" Except not many are going to buy those games.
Lol, I like the careful wording because I'll be able to play these games on my pc with better performance over the " JAGUAR EVOLVED "
it's okay though because destiny runs 10% better than yours so saying this justifies my $500 purchase
Hopefully that wishful thinking is actually true. Plus nothing appealing gets axed.
We should know more considering Microsoft already had four years mature their first party development this generation, yet they still seem to be coming up short in that regard.
They are trying to announce games closer to release date (same with Nintendo) but I agree, they need to be doing better as far as releases. 2017 was slim pickings.
@fresh When they just spent over a year talking about a mid gen console... That was just a lie because they had nothing. Not to say they are not investing, but they had not at that point. Just like the lie about “black tusks new game”.
@natfanboy Crackdown says hi Guess your choosing to ignore that
NatFanBoyRestricter No Man's Sky was first revealed at the VGX Awards in December 2013 released June 2016 2yrs 6 months So when was Crackdown and Sea of Thieves announced? Crackdown 3 The game was announced at Microsoft's press conference at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2014 in June 2014 but it was delayed on 16 August 2017 to an unspecified spring 2018 date. wow i wonder when it will release. Sea of Thieves announced In June 2015 Release date: March 20, 2018 2yrs 9 months. Don't let facts get in your way
Ouch natfanboy just got schooled with hardcore facts, damn lol. Nat if your gonna to defend your console of choice its best you check your facts before just blurting them out here lol. Anyhow like i said other than Ori the other games look totally underwhelming and I wouldn't give them a try.
Only one I would buy is Ori but im not buying system for one game. CD3 I was looking forward to until I saw how crappy it looked at E3. The others dont look interesting enough to even give a try.
I rather play the unfinished and cancelled Scalebound than these games
I am interested in four out of those five, possibly all five once I look in to the last night. I think they are doing quite well, but thanks for your faux concern.
Tbh this looks like a good lineup to me. Forza Horizon 4 will probably be added to it
I think they meant "THE 5 Xbox One Console Exclusives In 2018" there, edited.
@Jonn I use it...
@JonnS No sane company would cancel a big selling point just to fuel some stupid fanboy war list.
@JonnS That's funny because when ever anyone talks about the poor sales of Xbox games all I hear from you guys is how you bought it digital for play anywhere...
Crackdown looks so bad lol
I love Crackdown (the first one not the second) but this seems more and more like it's going to be a failure...
I think the reversal of the always online Xbox One screwed over production for Crackdown since that game was literally all about the always online concept and the cloud. I can't imagine that helping the developers.
Hopefully the delay does this game some good
This list really isn't the best, at least for me. Ori and the Will of the Wisps is a given. Other than that, my hype for Crackdown 3 isn't really there anymore; it took far too long and, while I loved the first (and this looked more like the first), I just can't bring myself to care about it anymore. If you can believe it, I still don't have The Last Guardian (though I have played it and enjoyed what I have played of it). Sea of Thieves isn't really my thing since FPS games aren't my thing and I don't have a very loving relationship with Rare anymore, though I haven't heard bad things so for those who enjoy the genre, there's likely plenty of fun to be had. I will say though, The Last Night looks really neat. The art style just feels fun and I'm quite interested in seeing how it is. I know some people who are really excited about State of Decay 2, but I don't have Live so I'm not sure how co-op would work for me. If it's couch co-op and some friends willing to buy it, I wouldn't mind picking up a copy. There's a limit to how many zombie games I can tolerate though and with Days Gone and The Last of Us, Part II not too far off, I would need to pace myself. The list isn't terrible for whom it caters (I think most Xbox gamers would actually enjoy these games a lot). For me though, there are enough conditional clauses to make this particular list not too terribly appealing to my tastes. TL;DR: will get Ori, loved the original. Not sure about The Last Night, but it looks fascinating.
Still weak. Come on Microsoft.
It's a decent list of games but its also severely lacking... especially in star power compared to Sony's monsterous line up for 2018...
I cant imagine Sony will launch all of those games next year, some will slip into 2019 Im sure.
PS gamers hopes that they delay some of them, because it is way too much, and we just talking just about exclusives, if we count in RDR2, Metro Exodus, Vampyr, Monster World and so on? My mind just blew away by thinking about it.
Definitely not must have
Im hoping Crackdown is way better than expected.
This list of games is the reason I switched my xbox gaming to PC. I just can't justify having so many devices that essentially do the same thing only to buy "exclusives" for one that I can get elsewhere.
Ori is the only interesting game there. The others look awful.
The last night looks awesome. And I'll give state of decay a chance the first was fun. Crackdown is a terrible series though and the new one looks dreadful. Sea of thieves doesn't interest me either
Are we sure they're exclusive?
Ori And The Will Of Wisp will be a graphical showcase on the X.
A side scroller will push the X to its limits?
Who said anything about limits? People really do see what they want to see.
To be fair the 1st Ori is one of the most beautiful games
He never even mentioned limits though... Ori is a beautiful game so its spot on to expect the next to be just as stunning. This is not some back alley opinion btw, critics and gamers alike have praised it for its gameplay and looks. Have you tried it?
I will buy them, just on my PC. Also PC is a platform, if a game is available on both PC and console the correct term is multiplatform and not "console exclusive".
okay so all those lists that are made that list games as ps4 exclusives- you do know the games on that list share it with systems like vita or even ps3? so your saying games like nioh or persona 5 are multiplat since they are on pc and ps3? and the tons of other games that are on those systems? or last of us being ps3 and ps4 guess thats a multiplat too? I think your argument backfired. OWNED
Vita and ps3 are playstaion though... Games like Nioh and Nier, yes they would be multiplatforms.
Persona 5 is a multiplatform game, yes. Although it isn't available on PC. Nioh is now a multiplatform game yes, but it wasn't previously... Previously it wasn't announced for PC. How has my argument backfired? Do you think because I'm not willing to suck Microsoft off that I'm a Sony fan? I own all the systems. It's just common sense to use the term multiplatform when a title exists across multiple platforms.
its pretty clear snez- my point is there is such thing as a console exclusive- and most console gamers are not hardcore pc gamers with high end rigs and impliying a game is multiplat or that everyone with a pc cann access games not on playstation is a funny trend im seeing.
i wonder what improvements crackdown will have from being delayed.
After seeing the list, it makes me that much more disappointed that games like Scalebound and Fable Legends were cancelled. If Microsoft would just follow Sony and Nintendo's game model of constantly producing great 1st party games, then maybe they could gain back some of the fans they lost over the years.
I was in the beta of fable legends... trust me when I say we aren't missing much and there was a reason it got canned. I hope Fable comes back in a full RPG though. Scalebound was definitely a huge loss :/
You were looking forward to Fable Legends or are you just mentioning it cuz it was cancelled?
I was looking forward to it.
Sea of Thieves, Ori and State of Decay 2 look awesome. Crackdown is just a major letdown though, it looks really bad.
There are people here just bent on talking. Ish about Xbox who don’t own one or plan too. Sony has their nether regions all in a box wrapped up. There is plenty to look forward to for 2018 on Xbox. Sony does too maybe but most have no dates which means some games are not 2018. I hope 2018 but most likely 2019
I guess if you have the One X the list doesn't matter.
The original Xbox and 360 seen better years. Microsoft need to fire the whole Xbox division and do a huge revamp. Nothing but brand new faces. And never hire anyone named Phil or Aaron ever again.
Lets put hundrends and hundreds of individuals out of work because one person on a forum is raging over the decisions of the few executives... Sounds logical and level headed. Totally. /s
That is just a sad @ss list!!! I hope there are more coming.
Ori is a no-brainer, Sea of Thieves is still very iffy for me but I'm interested.
State of Decay 2 and Ori 2 are up there as my most anticipated 2018 titles. Sea of Thieves has the capability to be an awesome title with ongoing support and really blossom into something unique. And, well, crackdown 3 is just more crackdown. Fun open sandbox type game. I'm hoping we also see Ashen and Below launch in 2018.
Age of Empires 4 (yes it will come to xbox) Halo 6 (yayaya give it to me) Forza Horizon 4 (the best racer is coming back to take the crown, again.) Sea of Thieves (Was fun but needs more content) Crackdown 3 (Looked underwhelming is latest gameplay, gonna wait for MP) State of Decay 2 (Loved the first one, gonna give it a try for sure) Thats what the big guns are with some smaller games that noone should miss out: The last Night (freaking awesome artstyle) Ori 2 (Probably 2019 but who knows) If all of above are releasing in 2018, its the best lineup in Xbox history. Halo alone wins it for me.
I dont think id want to play AOE 4 on a console. The only way they could make it work is by doing something like halo wars or goblin commander, and while those are fine they're not what I want in an AOE game.
5 exclusives you must buy and every other AAA game will look Supreme compared to every other console.
I am not expecting Ori to be this year, but if it is, easily my most anticipated game. First game was pure gameplay bliss.
Better to get these on PC
i think it's hilarious that at the top of the page of this site it says "we are looking for new writers" and then proceeds to barely talk about 5 games everyone already new about...the writer literally said nothing new. ...and ends it by giving us a brief bio of herself with the nerdiest of pics and her gamer tags.... Also, for those touting that these are the only games that will be available next year....they're not....these are just the games that you know about. there are others that will blow you away when they get revealed....then the news will be "how did microsoft manage to keep this a secret?"....stay tuned.
