1UP: 7th Dragon Preview

7th Dragon looks like one of those early-gen Super Famicom RPGs that never made it Stateside -- big heads, jumbo eyes, and cat ears abound -- and it feels a bit like a cutesy Etrian Odyssey without the first-person exploration and mapmaking elements. Like Atlus' stellar dungeon-crawler, you've got the choice of several different classes at the game's outset: Fighter, Rogue, Samurai, Knight, Mage, Healer, and Princess.

7th Dragon's dungeon portions feature random battles, but monstrous dragons also roam the halls, and they function a bit like Etrian Odyssey's daunting FOEs -- only not quite as lethal.

The story is too old to be commented.
