Call of Duty: WWII claims its fifth successive UK No.1

Activision’s Call of Duty: WWII is aiming its sights on a possible Christmas No.1 after claiming the Top 40 UK top spot for the fifth week in a row. That equals the 2017 record set down by fellow Activision release Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy, which also achieved five weeks on the trot at No.1. That game, incidentally, is back in the Top 10 after gaining six places. The top five actually remain completely static this week, with FIFA 18 (No.2), Gran Turismo Sport (No.3), Star Wars: Battlefront 2 (No.4) and Assassin’s Creed Origins (No.5) rounding out the higher chart echelons.

The story is too old to be commented.

I’m still impressed that GT Sport still on number 3 spot.

It's the UK, we support exceptional racing sims.

Of all the other better games out there which deserve to be supported more...

freshslicepizza10d ago

People have their own views of enjoyment, why is that so hard for you to understand? Maybe some like to play online for hours as opposed to sitting down with a single player game and being done with it over a a few nights.

It's like saying so many more movies are better than Justice League. So what? People like to be entertained and it's not like there is a limited selection of games to choose from. We get hundreds if not thousands of games per year, go play them instead and stop worrying about what others enjoy.

-Foxtrot10d ago

God how many notifications am I going to get from you Moldy. All you do to me and others who have shown you up in the past is try to write a comment to show them up so you can bathe in all those "agrees" for once and see people having your back.

"go play them instead and stop worrying about what others enjoy"

Then stop worrying what others say in their comments, it's ironic most of the stuff you reply with when you end up either contradicting yourself or look like a Hypocrite. All you do is reply so you can have an argument where you come off like you've "won"...it's getting sad man. It's funny Moldy you've change your name but your sour attitude is still there, that's how we know it's still you.

UCForce10d ago (Edited 10d ago )

When I seen you change your profile name, you become different not in good way. You become paranoid and fear. Just like Rookie Monster who completely lost his mind two years ago. I’m dead serious.

nowitzki200410d ago

My god. What has Sony done to you? They are so bad

Kribwalker9d ago

@ucforce
what was your account two years ago? because looking at your profile you only joined last year

Septic9d ago

@Krib

Haha !🤣 I bet his other account rhymes with FasterBornTrollio

G20WLY9d ago

Nice try, Kribwalker. 👍

However, comments here on N4G can be read without having an account.

Perhaps UCForce was around as a guest for a while before the temptation of chatting merrily with the likes of you, Moldy and Septic was just to great to resist?

UCForce9d ago

@Kribwalker and @Septic Let’s just say that I know N4G long enough. One thing I noticed that Moldy changed his N4G name 1 weeks ago. His attitude is also changed. Like I said, he become paranoid and fear from N4G community. Back in 2014, he was pretty normal. But moving forward, he becoming more hypocrite till this day. N4G just snapped him and he almost losing his mind, so he changed his username and attitude in order to “refresh” but turn out it doesn’t work, does it ?

People enjoy what they enjoy.

Cant really tell people to stop enjoying a game because you might find it a bad game.

-Foxtrot9d ago

It's not just about what I enjoy, it's about other developers working harder on their games, maybe new original ideas or games which are just generally better compare to a franchise milked to death and pretty much the same thing since 2007.

This is why studios close down or end up doing cash grabs to go after the money because nobody seems to invest in something new or better crafted.

Why can't there be both? There are many other games to go play, so go play them. It takes a lot to invest in a new IP and market them, this is less risk. You want them to stop making new Star Wars movies too?

"This is why studios close down or end up doing cash grabs to go after the money because nobody seems to invest in something new or better crafted."

They close down because of various reasons. New IP's fail all the time.

_-EDMIX-_9d ago (Edited 9d ago )

@fox-that has nothing to do with who's working harder on what game that's not really how business works.

Because what you're trying to apply is some sort of emotional appeal and then stating that somehow it game sale must be deserved based on this emotional attachment.

That's like saying somebody built you a TV Shelf and they worked harder because they had less tools so just because this person decided they wanted to use everything hand-carved and it took them thousands of hours to build this TV Shelf doesn't actually mean they're going to get more sales than it company that is making this TV shelf from some sort of generic mold and cranking them out thousands an hour especially if they're actually making the better product.

So I understand you may not like some of these games but dear God can you please stop attacking the users that do.

I'm not buying a video game because another person worked longer hours or harder to build the game I'm actually buying it for the expected enjoyment of the end product. I'm not buying a video game because another person worked longer hours or harder to build the game I'm actually buying it for the expected enjoyment of the end product

Because I'm pretty sure if a game developer spent thousands upon thousands of hours making one of the world's worst video games you would not be over here buying a thousand copies out of pure love.

Because I'm pretty sure if a game developer spent thousands upon thousands of hours making one of the world's worst video games you would not be over here buying a thousand copies out of pure love because it ironically starts to question why you even buy games if this is your reasoning behind why you believe a game deserves a sale.

Better is subjective...

If somebody believes they're going to have more fun with one of these games then I believe the company deserves the sale.

It's only fair.

Or are you going to start telling everyone what they should or shouldn't like again?

So please for the love of God stop trying to turn your subjective opinion into some sort of objective fact and trying to force people to buy something based on your ideologies.

Nothing's wrong with having an opinion about a video game but keep that opinion to yourself regarding game sales because people are going to buy what they like. You're not going to tell me or anyone else on this site what we should or shouldn't be spending our money on I believe this is where you cross the line and it starts getting extremely inappropriate and offensive to other users. If you don't like these Publishers that's completely fine but keep your opinions Fair as opposed to trying to blame the community for game sales of companies that you don't like.

I'm pretty sure other Gamers opinions matter too, our money matters as well Fox not just you.

WeebLord9d ago

Everyone has their thing, no one is arguing Horizon, Hitman or I don't know Wolfenstein 2 TNC don't deserve more sales. You're not going to find anyone making the argument that those games aren't worthy of commercial success, but you can't sit there and really say Call of Duty doesn't deserve the sales. The mainstream markets fickle, look at the downturn Infinite Warfare took sales wise and clearly WW2 for all its faults has still manaed to sell well to that crowd. It's a crowd that doesn't care about the games that you may enjoy, if Call of Duty ceased to exist they would simply move to another game that fit their parameters or simply stop playing.

They put out a product that people want to play, that's all it is.

_-EDMIX-_9d ago

Absolutely agreed I'm not sure why Fox doesn't completely understand this and I'm not entirely sure why there are users on this site that insist on trying to tell other users what they should or shouldn't "deserve" to be buying.

I think titles like Horizon zero Dawn sold exactly how it should sell for the type of game it actually is. I think Call of Duty deserves every sale it's getting based on the type of game it actually is.

If somebody wants an open world RPG sure they're completely fine to spend their money on Horizon zero Dawn no different than if somebody wants a fun first person shooter with Call of Duty.

It's almost as if there are users on this site that don't completely understand that the money people spend on games are actually their own to decide in regards to free will. Some of my favorite films of all time we're not big Blockbuster success like your Fast and the Furious or Transformer films

That doesn't mean the films that I like deserve Fast and Furious sales because the sales based on Fast and the Furious Transformers and other series are based on those respective series.

I don't get this need of people trying to equate emotional appeal to an objective game sale.

"God how many notifications am I going to get from you Moldy. All you do to me and others who have shown you up in the past is try to write a comment to show them up so you can bathe in all those "agrees" for once and see people having your back."

The agree system is a joke and you just wrote a whole paragraph about nothing, yet have the aduacity to talk to me about talking about the user,

"Then stop worrying what others say in their comments, it's ironic most of the stuff you reply with when you end up either contradicting yourself or look like a Hypocrite. All you do is reply so you can have an argument where you come off like you've "won"...it's getting sad man. It's funny Moldy you've change your name but your sour attitude is still there, that's how we know it's still you."

And again no substance, just more about the user. Like I said, you are not here to discuss anything, just vent. People will spend their money on what they find entertaining so stop acting like you are better than them.

-Foxtrot9d ago

Yeah yeah man

*yawns*

That's nice...

freshslicepizza9d ago

@-Foxtrot
"Yeah yeah man
yawns
That's nice.."

Yup, you like to suggest I talk about the user but put to the task you have nothing to say and I will keep proving that every day. The fact is you don't even know what you are asking here, they make Call of Duty because, wait for it...IT SELLS! When people stop buying it they will stop making them. Simple as that. Now go play what you want and let others enjoy what they want, got it?

_-EDMIX-_9d ago

What do you mean deserve? At the end of the day the games that deserve to get sales in my opinion are the games that people want to purchase to have fun with....

That's it.

I mean I would say a gamer deserves to be able to spend their money on something they want to have fun with.

I don't really understand why you always try to add this strange emotional appeal to something like game sales , are you trying to tell me that you know what people should be buying versus themselves?

You deserve to get a game sale simply because somebody wants to buy your game and have fun.

That's it.

There isn't much competition to be honest, the only competition they had was star wars and we all know what happened to that.
