1UP: Phantasy Star Zero Preview

Sega's going after the handheld MMO-style market in a big way by bringing its popular RPG franchise into the multiplayer fracas started by Monster Hunter and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. While 1UP expected Phantasy Star Zero to be a port (a highly desired port) of Phantasy Star Online (Dreamcast, Xbox, GameCube), it's actually a complete re-envisioning of the game, riding halfway between PSO and Phantasy Star Portable (on PSP) in terms of visual style. An even better comparison is that it apes Square Enix's Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, with four-player support and rich, colorful (if blocky) graphics.

The story is too old to be commented.
