TGS 2008: IGN Eyes On the Yakuza 3 Trailer

IGN writes:
The Yakuza series isn't so big in the States, but in Japan it's downright huge. That's why it was no surprise that on the first day of Tokyo Game Show members of the press waited over an hour to watch a twenty minute trailer for the game.

It was recently revealed that Yakuza: Kenzan! was a spin-off game and that Yakuza 3 is a modern tale that continues where the first two games left off. This means that Kiryu Kazuma is back with all of his ass-kicking talents. The trailer started by setting up the storyline, which amounts to a lot of in-fighting within the Yakuza that has Kazuma struggling to make his way to the top of the food chain.

The story is too old to be commented.

Yakuza 3 is going to be awesome I just wish SEGA doesn't take years to release this game overseas

I agree, this is the best brawler franchise in a long time, I can`t wait for the 3rd one, I really enjoyed the the first 2. What`s the deal with the one set in the old days of Yakuza though. Is it gone?

Yakuza: Kenzan! (old style) was a spin off title that as far as I know will only see a release in Asia.

I'm hoping this Yakuza game will feature subtitles so I don't have to wait on the localisation, because it looks and sounds kick ass!

Just buy Yakuza 2 for now. It is by far one of the best games this year. Don't go all Yakuza 3 fanboy all of a sudden. Support Yakuza , support Sega. Why? Simply because it is the new Shenmue and simply awesome.

"The Yakuza series isn't so big in the States, but in Japan it's downright huge", so lurking in the shadows around the corner is Microsoft holding a checkbook.

By weeks end this game goes multiplat if history is anything to go by.

I very much doubt that. Frankly I'm getting a little bored of "exclusive... but for how long" comments.

(no offense to you)
