Has Call Of Duty: WW2 Been A Redemption For The Franchise

It is not a secret that many gamers were not thrilled with Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. The space setting of the game did not go over well when first revealed making the trailer the most disliked game trailer on You Tube. Despite a solid campaign at launch, the game did not sell as well as expected. In a new opinion piece, Skewed and Reviewed look at Call of Duty: WW2 and ask if it is a redemption for the franchise.

The story is too old to be commented.

“It is not a secret that many gamers were not thrilled with Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. Despite a solid campaign at launch, the game did not sell as well as expected.“

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare has a Metacritic of 77 and still sold better than most other 2016 games. Safe to say that many gamers were indeed satisfied with the title.

Compared to past CODs they were not. It did not sell as well as expected and had the most hated trailer on You Tube so I would not call that satisfaction. You can see numerous threads where Activision admitted disappointment with the game. I do not remember them doing that for any other COD title.

There’s a difference between Call of Duty sales standards and basic industry sales standards, and by basic industry sales standards the game still performed extremely well.

It can’t be denied that Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare still sold better than most other 2016 games. To say that it didn’t sell well would mean that the majority of 2016’s titles didn’t sell well, which would be obviously absurd.

Even the dislikes on the YouTube trailer did very little to stop its commercial success. Battlefield 1 had a far more we’ll received trailer and it still only sold on par with Infinite Warfare

That’s clear enough proof that what people say on the internet isn’t indicative of how the market will receive a game.

I am not saying it did not sell well. I am saying it sold below expectations and was considered a disappointment sales wise with Activision and compared to other games in the series it had a very mixed reception from many gamers. I liked it but it was clear that there was a backlash against the future setting.

Not really, its a better setting but the connection issues for mp have been frustrating

I have been lucky with the PC version as I have not had many issues getting online. I have had some issues with hit detection, balance, and possible hacking. Had a guy earlier crouching in a corner, I emptied a full Sub Machine Gun clip with those penetrating rounds into him. He took them all, got up and one shot killed me. Kill Cam showed the hits pale screen with splotches all over. Guys were complaining all game about hitting people multiple times and yet they go down with one shot.

I think what has impressed me the most is that all three modes have been solid and enjoyable. I did not mind the campaign for Ghosts as an example but found the online to be frustrating. The Alien mode was ok but that having to start over if you did not survive the end battle grew old for me. This was a well-balanced game from the start.

it astounds me the scores this game has in metacritic with SEVERE server issues, but other games that launch with alot less issues get -3 instantly for any hiccup. 2k and COD are the only two games that can be launched in horrible shape and still be received well by the press. pockets must be getting fat.
