Guilt Free Gaming: Why Nazis are the Perfect Antagonists

Cheering a hero on as they brutally massacre hundreds of digital humans is ethically murky—unless, of course, they're Nazis.

As long as they're actual nazis and not thinly veiled allegories for "everyone to the right of Bernie Sanders" then yep, definitely.

Bobafret64d ago

That is the very reason I did not buy this game.

ziggurcat64d ago

you didn't buy the game because you have to kill nazis?

DrumBeat64d ago

You both passed on a game because they said "Not My America?"

Talk about snowflakery. The Nazis have taken over America in this story. It makes complete and total sense to want to utterly "Take America Back" given these circumstances. Stop injecting politics where they don't exist.

Bobafret63d ago (Edited 63d ago )

You know full well the entire game includes references to Trump and his constituents in a negative light. For the record killing Nazis was and is a good thing. Fun fact: Hitler got many of his horrific ideas from the Turks Armenian genocide.

DrumBeat63d ago

No, I don't know that. You're choosing to interpret that. I could just as easily say 'You know full well that Nazis are terrible and deserved to be vilified tenfold in fiction and in cinema.' I find it amusing that speaking up against Nazis is considered anti-Trumpian by his base.

That's where we are and it's absolutely ridiculous. Nazis. Antifa. They're all bad. Nazis are worse, imo. I think anyone of sound mind would agree.

Bobafret63d ago

"I find it amusing that speaking up against Nazis is considered anti-Trumpian by his base."

No, no, and no. That is not what I meant at all. It's when we are compared to Nazi's that I take issue.

ziggurcat63d ago

"You know full well the entire game includes references to Trump and his constituents in a negative light."

no. the game doesn't do that at all. the game's premise is based the idea of what could have happened if the Nazis won WWII, and were successful in their plans for outright world domination...

There are plenty of easter eggs proving me correct.

DrumBeat63d ago (Edited 63d ago )

Nothing is proving you correct. You're merely seeing it how you want to see it. If none of the Charlottesville nonsense took place, "Not My America" wouldn't be an issue for you, would it? In light of that, since it did take place, it still shouldn't be an issue. In light of this dystopian Nazi-takeover-of-America theme, "Not My America" is a perfectly valid statement of defiance that conveys the feelings of the country in this piece of fiction. We are rebelling and taking America back.

stone_cold64d ago

Or Israelis , perfect example yo .

StormSailor64d ago

I like to kill Nazis, but I also wanted it with another kind of junk, the damn communists.

Hope the polish make a game that we can kill both. Do it CD Projekt, please

No murdering of ISIS soldiers virtually speaking. They can make ISIS comical if the gaming industry wanted it or is too soon.
