The fact of the matter is that the action RPG genre wouldn’t be what it is today without Assassin’s Creed.
“Bioshock had the System Shock series to fall back upon, and Mass Effect is essentially a smarter, more engaging version of Knights of the Old Republic. On the opposite end of the spectrum was Assassin’s Creed, a brand new, never before seen experience that explored gameplay styles and storytelling mechanics that few games had broached before.” With those comparisons you could say Assassin’s Creed came from the blueprints of Prince of Persia, especially since AC literally began as a concept for a PoP title.

Wow that's amazing
If you're talking about the ledge grabbing platforming/climbing that we see in Assassin's Creed, Crystal Dynamics TR games, Uncharted... then yes. Prince of Persia was the game that introduced those platforming mechanics to gaming
“The fact of the matter is that the action RPG genre wouldn’t be what it is today without Assassin’s Creed.” Are you implying that Assassin’s Creed is an RPG series?
I hate how many people have no idea what an RPG is.
People even think The Legend of Zelda is an RPG series
Action RPG? OG Assassin's Creed? No wonder ppl are bringing down Origins lol.
The frist few assasins creed's were and this new one kinda is, everything in between was not. It definitely kickstarted the famous batman combat that everyone loved but are tired of now.
