FIFA 18 was the Top Downloaded Game on the US PlayStation Store in October

The PlayStation Blog just released the top downloaded games from the PlayStation Store for the month of October, and in an unsurprising result, FIFA 18 was the number one spot in both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 categories. This should come as no surprise, as the FIFA games usually dominant the sales charts thanks to soccer being the most popular sport on the planet. Elsewhere, new releases like South Park: The Fractured but Whole and Middle-earth: Shadow of War round out the top 3, and Grand Theft Auto V still remains a top 10 fixture.

1 FIFA 18
2 South Park: The Fractured but Whole
3 Middle-earth: Shadow of War
4 Assassin’s Creed Origins
5 Gran Turismo Sport

So the top 4 games on the Oct PSN chart are multiplatform games? I was thinking GT sport was going to be at least top 2 because it was an exclusive, highy anticipated since the PS4 launch. Still, top 5 is good.

Maybe people read the reviews of GTsport and decided the lack of a legitimate single player mode and better rated racers like PC would be a better fit because typically GT has sold like gangbusters, but not so much this time

It is indeed good. It is expected to be at 5 though because of the lack of content. The whole "new" direction business was just a more appealing way of saying "a seriously streamlined approach for the sequel of GT6 on PS3." Its like CoD without the SP campaign, or GTA without the story mode. Sales are still very good and need to be congratulated. Hoping GT8 will return to form because it needs to, and then it would sell at least double of GTSport sales. GT fans deserve a full fledged GT, more now than ever.
