B-b-but the console market is dying 🤣

septemberindecember414d ago

These graphs always fail to represent the entire picture. That is, they never show the Wii with the Xbox 360 and PS3. Combining all three of these consoles you’d see about 260 million total by the end of their life, but I really doubt we are going to see that this generation.

Is it dying? Not really, but sales are down from last generation so far with PS4 picking up the brunt of the slack.

Of course, an argument can be made about casuals purchasing the Wii, but we can’t cast a console aside off that basis alone. There are bound to be some core games that purchased the Wii (I.e. myself) and there are bound to be casuals that purchased the PS4, 360, PS3, and One as well.

Congratulations And with god of war last of us 2 coming 2018 it will only grow more

I don't really think the XBoner even needs to be a part of this comparison. It might as well not even exist. Everyone needs to just let the XBox brand die.

Too much kool-aid aint good for you. No system needs to die.

So, anyone in the know realizes that Xbox is love of the idea of a market where Sega.was number one. To younger people, it doesn't mean that so those fans experienced gaming through 360... but why we are talking about Sega, they 'died' out of the console war and the industry moved on. These companies aren't gaming. Many companies can do it. No system needed to die but many, many did.

^^ to reiterate...

No CURRENT system/platform needs to die. Nintendo is on a path on their own since the 2000s and its working just fine for them simply because they dominate the younger demographic.

SONY is killing it with the PS brand (struggled with the ps3 a bit but did fine in the end) and Microsft is challenging/keeping Sony honest for the last 13+ years.

Clearly, you can see the balanced dynamics the three of them have achieved? They compliment each other and its working in our favor.

I'm a sony fan boy and I can say, no you don't want the xbox brand to die. As much as I love Sony, they still need someone to compete with or just like any corporation.. they will take advantage of the consumer and implement whatever bs they like. Xbox is what keeps them on their toes to ensure customer satisfaction.. if there is no competition, they can do whatever they like to make more profit.

We don’t need MS. We have Nintendo to compete with Sony.

Goozex414d ago

Sony has won all console gens. Ms tried for almost 2 decades but failed. They are now throwing in the towel and shifting back to pc gaming

Sorry to break it to you, but Sony didn't win anything last gen.
