The Switch 4.0.0 system update rolled out recently and after just a few days there have been reports that it caused a lot of bugs and issues for users in Japan.
I’m in America and the only issue I’ve noticed is when you record a video while playing a 60fps game the video chugs along. Needs another update to fix some bugs I guess.
Are you sure it’s not your eyes adjusting to 30fps after seeing 60? It should happen in splatoon, arms and Mario Kart. Zelda should look exactly the same because it runs at 30 natively
I've noticed this too, but it stopped after a minute or so, I think it's just the video still processing.
It seems to be random. I can skip through the video and sometimes it’s smooth and other times it stutters.
Hope they fix the issues before the update hits the West
The update is already there in the West and no one is reporting problems.
Mine works just fine. As always, the problem does not happen on every consoles.
Oh four users with problems it must be widespread.....these gaming media sites always blowing things out of proportion.
I know, right? Knock on wood, but I haven't had a single issue thus far, either. Already caught one funny moment in BotW, too, so thus far I'm having a good time with this update.
Yeah because those 4 users who are having problems shouldn't have a voice concern.
Uh did I say they can't? No. This author is trying to make it seem like Switch owners in Japan are outrage instead of saying a few users in Japan are outrage.
that's what you get when you're ignoring all market standards and keep acting too arrognat to take some advice. it's a wonder not every n-update is an utter mess.
What are you talking about? What has this story got to do with market standards?
Four users. Read the article.
Yeah, unfortunately this stuff isn't Nintendo's strong suit. If only the hardware design was outsourced and Nintendo stick to making games. Still, it's Nintendo, I suppose the hassle is worth it for the uniqueness they bring.
lol I haven’t exerienced any issues with my Switch after the update. Last night I played Breath of the Wild, Steamworld Dig 2, and FAST rmx and had no issues. Switching games is snappy and load screens are minimal, the Switch is a dope machine 👌🏼
Four users. Read the article. Obvious click bait.
That's bad testing. You should have caught that way before it went live and stopped the update from going out.
When millions of consumers have a device it is hard to perform any amount of testing that ensures 100% of users will not face a problem. Just about every system that gets an update has a small (or sometimes larger) section of people that experience problems. Just Google: "PS4 issues with latest update" (or Xbox One) to see how a lot of people experience this on other consoles. It sucks, but it's unpreventable.
To be honest, those issues could be caused by just about anything. Data corruption during download, power surge during install, people lying, or Nintendo's update is at fault. For the on that had to pull the SD card, it's possible the card was a fake, thus causing issues. Before people start pointing fingers, an eye needs to be kept on the situation. Considering the system is region free, and rolled out worldwide at the same time, you would think that if there was an issue, it wouldn't be confined to one region.
