Returning to Dead Space

In moving away from a single, focused setting and introducing more third-person shooting, the sequels never really recaptured the magic of the first game. Hopefully the next—if they ever make another—will take a step back and try another smaller, slower game like the first. Alien: Isolation is proof that bigger and louder isn’t always better.

Dead Space 2 felt like magic to me. 3 was a unique and enjoyable experience but not as scary.

2 was definitely the best I agree. 3 was ok but yeah less scary and more actiony.

I thought 2 was more action horror and action oriented than the first one and the first one was more survival horror and scarier imo. The first time to arrive to the Spaceship was great

Most people say the 2nd is their best, I am actually one of the few who thinks exactly like this article, the first Dead Space felt like an horror movie, B rated or whatever. it tried something classic and succeeded brillantly imo, To me, the cinema camera behind Isaac's shoulder made me feel like I was going through a 10 hour long movie. I think it does need to go back to something campy. Hopefully one day it will come back, Some franchises ressurect eventually

I never could get into these games

Like most horror games, I love the beginning but stop caring towards the end. Resident Evil 4 was an amazing game, but I only remember the first half eventhough I beat it. Resident Evil 7's best enemy was Jack. Dead Space 1 and Evil Within were fun, but the story lost me towards the end. Maybe I'm just a panzy.
