Better Together Update is not actually an update for console owners. It's a completely different game - one which is almost identical to Minecraft's previous Pocket Edition for mobiles.
"Better Together Update is not actually an update for console owners. It's a completely different game - one which is almost identical to Minecraft's previous Pocket Edition for mobiles." That's because its the Windows 10 edition, which is a completely different version. Which you do get for free on the Xbox if you already own the Minecraft: Xbox Edition for a certain amount of time, it even has all new achievements that you'd have to re-get over and is fully compatible with mouse and keyboard on Xbox. Eventually itll catch up to the current state patch wise id assume
Good for Sony making the right decision eh
It is a mess but its also in beta
Seriously, it's like people don't understand that it's the normal path of Minecraft. When the console versions first came out they were stripped down versions of the Java edition that took a very long time to catch up. This is a new version of the game being built from the ground up to run on everything under the sun with cross play. It's gonna take some time to work out the serious kinks but once it does it's going to be glorious. A lot of people also don't seem to realize that like the article said it's a completely different game. This "patch" doesn't in any way prevent you from playing the non stripped down version without crossplay so it in no way has a negative impact on anything.
