Switch vs DS – VGChartz Gap Charts – August 2017 Update

August 2017 is the 6th month that the Nintendo Switch has been available for. During the latest month the gap grew in favor of the Switch by 243,374 units. After two months the Switch is currently ahead of the DS by 1.14 million units.

The DS launched in November 2004 in North America, December 2004 in Japan and March 2005 in Europe, while the Nintendo Switch launched worldwide in March 2017. The Switch has sold 6.08 million units, while the DS sold 4.94 million units during the same timeframe.

Wow the switch is sling in great numbers looks like they could be a winner with this console and coming into the Christmas period it will show how strong it will be.

It will sell what it can produce. Hopefully Iphone has had their share of NAND memory by now. Here is crossing my fingers!

I thought when the original DS was released it was overpriced and the price cut is what led to it selling like hotcakes. I dont recall issues of product availability with manufacturers to retailers...

That 3DS not DS,
The DS didn't take off til Mario Kart DS and Pokemon Diamond. in 2005-2006
