Affordable hdr, interesting.

I thought so. Will be nice to try it soon and see what it has to offer.

It's not true HDR, it's just emulated. It's an 8 bit panel.

kevnb342d ago

Are you sure? That’s quite the colour gamut for an 8 bit panel... and do they even make 8 bit monitors?

Ashlen342d ago (Edited 342d ago )

i'd say 90% (this raito may be slightly off due to the rise in actual HDR) of all monitors/TV's are 8 bit. Any monitor that is 16.7 million colors is 8 bit. 10 bit which is required for true HDR is 1.07 billion colors. Monitors have been claiming 10 bit support via dithering and other techniques for years. But in reality it's no where near true 10 bit. Not even to the untrained eye.

This monitor is a rip off playing on the term HDR and people who don't know any better. It's basically false advertising.
