I believe you're misinformed. You need to open lootboxes for leveling your different roles. I may be wrong but i believe thats the process.

And the big problem is that you need credits and credits are quite the chore to attain not to mention everyone gets equal amounts...therefore the normal progression in the game is the same for everyone. Grind, grind and grind. ...or get tired and start shelling out the green stuff.

It's not just cosmetics. The entire progression system is based around loot boxes, you can directly acquire more power by buying loot boxes which makes it pay to win.

No it is NOT. This is the ENTIRE progression and perk system locked behind a paywall. Sure you could play the game 24/7 and get some of the perks but it would take YEARS.

You guys are aware that there is no premium for Battlefront 2 right? I by no means defend microtransaction bullshit but, if i had to choose between another premium crap (that only divides playerbase) over microtransactions, i choose microtransactions.

Other than that I will not judge further, until I see for myself how it will end up affecting the game.

I'd rather have a premium season pass than them design progression from the ground up with rng microtransactions in mind. There are a whole bunch of ways they could have done this right.. they could have used SWTOR's MTs as a good reference as to how they are done right but nope, good old greedy EA strike again.

With premium game. At least I can get the base game for 60$ with the weapon and stuff. But with MT you wont even get those base weapons and equipments

I rather buy a base game and dlc so I get the full experience instead of paying for MT Hoping I get something knowing that most likely I wont get wat I want and habe to pay again

With dlc at the very least you can buy what you want, so you can choose wether it's worth it or not. With MT, you can pay 3$ to get what you want or it might even take 100$ and you might nkt even get it. You never know

Paying to get some advantage is no new. The previous game had packs available in PS store. However I find very bad that they entice gamers to buy their progression so to speak, in the game as you play.
Gamers paying real money to progress in the game must be real bad players. On a side note, there s some hypocrisy going on about the so called Deluxe edition on this game and possibly others. It's a fact that gamers buying it are simply paying to get significant advantage day one. We r talking about epic upgrades. Those gamers are just as bad
For my part I buy standard games and unlock my upgrades playing the game.

One of the issues with this game is that while yes you can unlock them in game, the rewards for completing an online match are based solely on how long the match was, do you normally get 20 kills and push objectives, congrats you get the same rewards as someone who just sits there and shoots at their shadow thinking it's an enemy

Its true I didn't get a clear idea how rewards work and even how they account for points allowing reinf in a match. I read you get more rewards for finishing a match rather than leaving before the end so that I guess is good. I do hope its based on how you perform. Did you get the information about how that works for the full game? Where if you have a link plz?

Why anyone in their right mind would first buy a game full price, and then go on to buy your way through the unlocks, effectively paying extra money to play less in the end, is well beyond me.
There's something to be said about impatience, but same as with the battlefield shortcut packs, you'd be paying to unlock gear that acts as one of the main incentives to keep playing, leaving you either unfulfilled or bored. It makes no sense

I totally agree thats the way I see it.
I think it would make more sense actually to release a standard game at launch or a deluxe edition with no extra upgrade/weapon and then a few weeks later possibly allow players to buy extra for them to catch up if they wish since they jump late to the party

I wonder if this is legal in Sweden at all tbh. Lottery and gambling aimed at people under 18 is illegal here and this game is sold with a 16 year age restriction at PS Store.
I have yet to see any MT with 18 year old age restriction on PS Store and that includes every game sold there...
I wish someone with legal know-how could see if lootboxes doesn't fall under the lottery-laws. Because if they do, it would be curious to see how EA, Sony, Microsoft and so on would have to react to that.

They could probably defend it by saying that no-one is forced to buy those things, and therefore the responsibility doesn't rest on them (how many mobile games have similar gambling mechanics). But it's a dirty trick, playing on people's lack of self control to boost your profit. Very sad that AAA games have eagerly implemented these things.
